Judging from the leaked sheet showing 32 valves, and that rendering, it looks like they’re finally going the DOHC route, at least most likely for the Z06 and ZR1 anyway. Still offering a SC 6.2 pushrod motor with 755hp, the C8 is going to be a monster.

Or

Maybe the 6.2L 755hp SC pushrod motor is the ZO6, and the ZR1 being the 5.5L 850hp TT DOHC? Possibly the NA 5.5 DOHC with 600hp is the Grand Sport?

Chevy has done this before, C4 ZR1 got a special one off DOHC motor.

You’re right, I forgot they did have a special DOHC for the C4ZR1. So that seems likely they’ll do the same with this car.

Damn, maybe the gs will get a flat plane NA v8??
Very nice

That would be nasty.

I’d be in line for another if they do.

I’ve never been a big Chevy fan but this car might persuade me to join the club..

Interesting speculation, with other reports now saying the twin turbo will be the ZR1 and Z06 will stay N/A. I'm fine either way, I just hope if it is a flat plane crank motor that it does not have the same issue that have plagued the GT350.

I was personally hoping the LT5 would be the motor for the Z06. Hard to beat the good old pushrod.

If that were the case I’d be highly interested in a GS as I bet it would make a killer street car/weekend track toy. Also would likely come in at lower price point then the C8Z

is that the motor that is in the gen3 CTSV?

The other day a friend that owns a bunch of super cars (but does not actually know much about cars) asked me about the c8zr1. He would never consider a vette and I am surprised he even knew about the release of the c8. Anyway, it is now on his list and he is wondering if the zr1 will be a hybrid. Vette just went way up market IMO.

Imo a hybrid would make it sick, get great mpg and run insane speeds. Weight is the only thing I'd be worried about. The crazy hybrid supercars are expensive because of the materials it uses, and they've kept the weight down on those cars.. the heaviest being a porsche 918 ar 37xxlbs, which could have been lighter if it wasnt awd.
