11/12 Ford Racing Sport Versus Touring Mufflers?

I purchased a pair of Ford Racing Sport mufflers M-5230-MSVTLA, I ordered them from my Ford dealer. They are really quiet, not much difference from stock. I’m wondering if the box was mislabeled, does anyone know if there is any way to physically tell the difference between the Sport and Touring? I’m going to call Ford Performance but if there is someway to determine the difference I’d like to know before I call.

How recently did you purchase your mufflers? these have been discontinued for a while unless they gave you the MGTLA (gt version), I have actually been looking to find and here these as ive had the ford racing tourings MSVTCA and the sport MGTLA myself all of which are pretty quiet mufflers, I am currently running borla tourings (also discontinued for a few years) which are much louder then anything ford racing I used. Also look (and take picture inside of the tip of the muffler, see what kind of baffling it has, the FRPP tourings are chambered so you would see a metal wall if you somehow got them, i attached a pic of my old ones.

and this is the borla touring straight thru design, the GT sport mufflers I had looked like this but with full perforation all the way through instead of the partial solid tubing shown here.

I just purchased them about two months ago from my local Ford Dealer, they ordered them in. I’m in Ontario Canada and I know that they got them from the US. The box was sealed and the manufacture date was in 2013. I’ll grab a picture inside the tip of the muffler and post it.

Interesting they look like my borla tourings, im guessing you still have cats on the car if you dont think its not loud lol?

Yes Cats are still on. I don’t think they are much louder than stock and a few friends feel they are actually quieter than stock.

I’ll post a photo of the label off the box.

Yeah I believed you lol, the cats are your issue, I have the borla tourings which im 90% sure and exactly the same design as your svtla which without cats are pretty loud but id imagine with cats they barely sounds like anything as I previous had S types which were pretty mild with stock cats but stupid once I went O/R H
