My S550 has a back seat in theory, no one could sit behind me with me driving. Two shorties up front and maybe 2 kids in back.

Yep lets compare the fully loaded top of the heap Mustang to the base non optioned C8. Ricer math. Yo do realize the C8 can be option out to almost $110K? no one is quoting that price, but seems to bring up the loaded price of the GT500 quite often.
Who said anything about ONLY comparing a base c8 to a loaded to the gills 500?
How about this base c8 vs base 500. 60k vs. 74K (plus mark up). Lol

It baffles me when people pay the markup! Some kid at work bought a raptor for a $100k with ADM here in SoCal at the same time my friend in Texas bought his raptor for $70k OTD with an extended warranty. It’s nearly unbelievable how people can throw away money like that.

As great as the Z06 is, I would still much rather have the 2016-7 Viper ACR for the ultimate analog experience.

They must not remember a loaded z06 sells in excess for $120k (z07 c7r package) Now that the vette had gone mid engine and options available like a 911, I can see this car going to $150k. So yes, we should compare top models with equally (or close to) equally-spec'd top models.
But again, comparing a z06 to a gt500 is retarded. Price may be similar but the corvette will do everything better except having more room and seats. Team corvette does not give a shit about mustangs. They are after the big dogs: gt2rs, 720s and pista.

A loaded up C7 3LZ Z07, (non C7Rcar), is close to or more than 120K as well.
The price of the porsche gt3 went up too, now starting at 143k. I'm curious how a z51 package will perform against one.
By that rationale, any four seater Porsche shouldn’t be compared to the Corvette.

911's are all 2-seaters and should be compared to a 100K Vette instead of a Mustang.
While I agree the Mustang has evolved into more of a sports car, it is still a larger 4-seater car vs. a smaller car that has ALWAYS been designed for performance.
If we take out all of the ADM's, the GT500 will be cheaper, option for option. Some people think it will take a fully upgraded/optioned out model GT500 to even remotely compete with the Z and at that point, the prices will be much closer and more valid in that argument.
911's are all 4 seaters... Minus the gt3/gt2
GT2/GT3 are the performance models and very comparable to a Z06.........
2020 GT500 - Estimated weight - 4,225LBS
2020 Z06 - Estimated weight - 3,585 (based on a previous thread/post that showed a possible dealer screen shot of the Z and specs)
2019 911 GT3 - Estimated weight - 3,153
Definitely sounds like a fair comparison.
Z06 is over 600LBS lighter than the Shelby, the 911 GT3 is over 1,000LBs lighter than the Shelby. HUGE difference.
Too much logic, the plus the vette has is it's cheap, but it's not like it will completely dominate the market, it just wont, people buy Porsches and Ferraris for a reason. Performance will be great, but it isnt be all end all, these guys forgot how great the zl1 performs, yet nobody buys them. And lol at comparing a panamera with a z06.
The magazines should do that comparison, people making these comparisons will be pissed when the magazines have the sedan win, because it's just much more comfortable with a better interior.
I dont think the z06 will be that light, corvette will have to invest in more carbon parts. That'll drive the price up. Not sure they can mass produce cf parts for a car they make 25k+/year of. GM will make as many z06s as it can.

By all this "logic" you must think the gt500 is geared towards the hellcats/demons? Its not. The GT350 was quoted, by ford, to be a gt3 competitor. And this gt500, clearly is being marketed as a track day car.
Its a sports car, 2 seats or 4 seats, they are all competitors.
Given the chance, id buy the GT3.. but I can not afford a GT3, I can afford the C8Z51 though
More 2+2, people think the rear seats in the mustang are small, 911 rear seats are smaller.
