If a person feels the need to call out someone who is in the wrong, why can't they do it without a gun?

Drejka could have easily left his handgun in his vehicle and proceeded to confront the woman and her child that were parked in a handicap spot.

If you are not willing to confront people without your concealed handgun with you, you should not be confronting people at all.

.

I disagree with you. The shooter had to get a background check before he got his license, and at 48 years old and no felony charges, he’s not a thug looking to shoot someone. He probably has it on him a lot. I’ve had my concealed carry for sixteen or so years and never thought about putting it up before I go to the jiffy or talk to someone. Do you have a concealed carry license? I would agree with you if he drove there, saw the vehicle in the handicapped spot, went back home to get a gun, and then confronted the lady.

I'm going to leave this here. For every one of this bad thing to happen with a gun there are at least 20 that happen that is good let that sink in for a minute.

Then you get your answer when it involves firearms in general the good of them far outweigh the bad.

First line into the article, I noticed them using “sheriff who chose not to arrest a WHITE gun owner who killed a BLACK man”..... Not reading that race baiting article. Sorry, but not sorry.

Of course... Let’s make it about race now.

I looked beyond that first line of the article from 2018. To be clear, I did not feel “race baited” reading the rest of the article.
Unfortunately, some can’t get passed the race issue which is not new to this case.
There are many articles on this Sheriff’s or other LEO’s interpretation of the SYG law without race.

That line threw credibility out the window for me.

I see what you are saying, though.

Read these articles about Drejka and tell me if you still think he was not a "thug looking to shoot someone":

Florida man threatened people 3 different times before shooting man in 'stand your ground' case - CNN

Records show road rage, gun threats in stand your ground shooter’s past

And yes, I have had my CCW for several years now.

Thank you for taking the time to post those. The two stories about him flashing his gun were compelling, the brake check and septic truck driver were not to me. Maybe he does have an aggression issue. You have changed my mind in that he was possibly looking for an altercation. Maybe he is a piece of crap. It doesn’t change my mind on the outcome though. I feel that Drejka would have never shot if he wasn’t physically attacked. Also, after reading those articles, do you still feel like you should put up your gun before talking with people?

I think you should be able to call someone out when they’re doing wrong and not be physically attacked. If you’re waiting in line and someone cuts in front of you are you just supposed to say nothing? The shooter didn’t see the guy and gets violently pushed down. It was about one second that the pusher backed up from when the gun was out. I wouldn’t have been able to find this guy guilty and face a possibility of 30 years over a one second decision after he was violently pushed down. I don’t know how I would’ve reacted if I was talking to someone one moment and on my backside the next with an angry guy clinching his fists taking steps towards me. It took me several times of watching the video to come to a conclusion, I couldn’t imagine being knocked down and having one second to make a decision. Everyone in the situation could have walked away at some point, but the pusher upped the ante.

You must be just now hearing about this case. Why do you keep trying to make it seem like this piece of shit was just calmly explaining why they shouldn't be parked in a handicap spot?? The dude was yelling and screaming in the woman's face and using racial slurs. Is that what qualifies as "talking" to people for you? Dude was a cowardly wannabe thug who went around trying to create a reason to shoot somebody. Now he's [hopefully] going to pay the price for wanting to be Billy Badass with a gun. He's going to spend several years in prison getting his ass handed to him on the regular by T-Dog and Ray-Ray. Good!!

Do you think the woman was being lady like through the exchange? I know there are two sides to every story. Drejka could be a cowardly thug with an itchy trigger finger. He could have even been a domestic terrorist, but you will never convince me that he should have been physically attacked over words.

I'm going to say this, when you been pointed out over 4 times on causing trouble at this store, due to getting in peoples faces and telling them how you think things should be. Then yes he was causing problems that evolved into what you seen, all because he wanted to play neighborhood cop.

The one I totally blame for this is the store owner as he could of put a stop to this simply by barring Drejka from the establishment after the 2nd run in and told to pack his bags and not to return. But for what ever reason he didn't.

So, in other words, you're going to do all the mental gymnastics possible to make the murderer look innocent of a situation that HE INSTIGATED IN THE FIRST PLACE. Saying the victim "shouldn't have parked in the handicap spot" is beyond disingenuous. Classic blame-the-victim tactic. I guess women who get raped shouldn't have went to the place where it happened or worn what they were wearing. I mean, if she didn't go there and/or dress in a way that provoked the rapist... It's not the rapist's fault he couldn't control his impulses brought on by what a woman wears. He was providing a community service by punishing women who don't dress the way moral "laws" say they should. If she had dressed more modestly, she wouldn't have been raped. Right?

This is exactly what is wrong with America... No accountability what so ever. None.

Your brother from another mother parks illegally, taking away a space that could be used by a handicapped veteran.

Premi - “No prob”.

Your brother from another mother attacks an older weaker guy that is the “enemy race”.

Premi - “No prob”.

Your brother from another mother gets smoked like a hotdog on the 4th of July.

Premi - “Whaaa whaaa whaaaaaaaa!”.

Don’t go putting your hands on people, Premi. Learn this lesson.
