I'm building an 84 Notch and am using a lot of parts from a 98 Cobra. I'd like to run a decent size wheel and tire in the rear, but currently have the SN95 length rear end.

In my experience a 15x10 wheel would be best with a 6.5" backspace on a fox. Since the Cobra rear is 3/4" longer each side I'm wagering a 7.25" backspace would work well.

It appears that many 10" wheels designed to fit the S197 chassis are 7.25" backspace. Anyone ever tried this already?

Did you ever get anywhere on this? I'm in the same boat with my 1989 that is converted to rear disc also.

Same here. Thought about taking a set of SN95 17x8's and adding some width to the inside. 1 to 1.5"
