I've read of UPR K-Members literally coming apart on cars with heavy cornering aspirations, so be careful!
Chrome moly?! Lol were they HDPE only cars? Never heard of that. I’ve had a handful of UPR k members and put them through the ringer with no issue. Guess there are ghost stories with every brand out there. Thanks for the heads up though!

It’s a 3” double cowl .

Honestly, my mind was made up on cutting in the paint along the hood line to match the grill...which is the reason it’s sitting at the paint shop now. But then I saw it and now I’m going back and forth. It looks so nice. Not to mention the underside of the hood is black and I think it might look awkward when the mineral grey stops on the top surface. REALLY tough decision frankly. Would cost a fortune to smooth/prep and paint the underside
It would look good painted top and bottom. Attention to detail adds class.

This may be one of my favorite New Edge Mustang builds. I'm living vicariously through you and enjoying each step.

Thank you brother!

Just dropped the new k member and oil pan off at powder coat. He’s going to rush them back to me so we’re not at a stand still for more than a couple days. It really pays to have good working relationships with the same guys year after year. K member and a arms are going bronze. Canton pan is going wrinkle blue to match the VC’s. All is well once again lol
Side note...I must have almost 3 grand worth of coating/ceramic on this car at this juncture. Anyone that says attention to details is cheap lied to you

literally nobody has ever said anything near that to me lol. I'm well aware it wouldn't be true, hell I've spent an extra $30 on an oddball hose end to route something in such a way as to satisfy my OCD

While waiting on the Powdercoat decided to titanium wrap the up-pipe, downpipe and cross over on the Hotside. Overkill maybe, since everything is 2000 degree ceramic coated already but all these pipes are directly in the engine bay so I want to keep temps down as much as possible. The fact that it works with the color palette is a bonus stylistically

Looks like the MM k you were using is their regular K member with the cross brace. The hellion specific MM K member doesn't have that brace and was what was used to design the hellion kits. Bummer you had to go to UPR. About 10 notches down in terms of handling ability but if this is a "Fun" car it won't really matter that much.

I LOVE the color scheme. Excited to see more!

I learned the hard way of the Hellion specific k member. It completely escaped me until we ran into the fitment issue. I’m sure the “consensus” is that the UPR is far inferior but I’ve had both...many times each, and could never tell/feel a difference. This car will be so tight with the torque arm, panhard, sway bars and 4 corner coil overs that I strongly doubt it constitutes a downgrade of any kind. You are right though, the car is not meant to a dedicated track car. More a car that can take exit ramps ferociously :D

Didn’t plan on doing this but....here it is for the first time in the sun with wheels. Humbly and honestly I have to say...this thing is STUNNING (obvious suspension adjustments and possibly some narrower front tires aside). Pics don’t do the car any justice. All due respect to the DSG car (sorry Geoff) this is easily the most masterful creation to date
