Currently the wife is a stay at home mom but she has it easy fiscally thanks to her mom doing well in business. I make good money so we live comfortable, but I drive far and work a good bit so my time is limited during the week.

I give my wife credit though, she’s currently preggo, cares for our 1 year old son, the three dogs, keeps up the house, does laundry, dishes, and I always come home to fresh cooked meals.

The only downside is I actually enjoy cooking so on the weekends I try to get some time in the kitchen.

Some of you guys have it pretty good. I'm far from highly paid yet my wife makes less than half what I make so spending large amounts of money on "things" for her can get contentious.

The latest and greatest is an all inclusive trip to Mexico for her brother and sister-in-law's ceremony. Notice I didn't say wedding? Its because they've been married over a year already. Oh ya, we have a 4.5 month old baby that we just started paying daycare for so there isn't exactly thousands lying around for unnecessary vacations. We found a fairly good deal so I gave in but made it clear it's the last large cost I'm ever giving in for.

Ya, I know, I'll see how that goes but I've already let her know several times this vacation is delaying goals that we have and there will not be any further delays.
Daycare is a real kick in the cojones. My boy only goes 2 days a week and it still costs us $400/month.

Sure is, $250 a week here, comes out to $13k a year. After payroll taxes, income taxes, 401k contribution, vision and dental, if we had another child the combined daycare cost would be more than my wife brings home.

We are seemingly the only new parents I know that are getting zero weekly childcare help from family. I'm definitely going to use that as a reason why we (likely) only have one child when my parents and in-laws complain that they only got 1 grandchild from my wife and I.

Your mom
If you're stuffing the sausage between her bun right, you get all the sammiches.

And don't forget that every meal doesn't have to always be meat and potatoes. You got to change up the menu every now and then. Sometimes you got to lick that plate clean before you set the table.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some steak to prepare for dinner.
