So I went ahead and ordered a set of 1-7/8" Jet Hot headers by kooks and noticed that they don't have scavenger spikes in the collector like the regular kooks headers. I'm thinking that it probably doesn't make a huge difference in performance but I just wanted to get some opinions before I decide to install or return them.

Well got in contact with lethal performance who I ordered the headers from and according to kooks the Jet Hot headers do not have scavenger spikes. Kinda dissapointed considering the price of the headers and the fact that they don't come with the connection pipes, you need to order those separately. I should've went with my gut and just ordered regular kooks headers so I would get a top quality product and not have any corners cut like with the JH headers. I thought the only difference was the materials the headers were made out of (409 SS vs 304 SS) Also another thing to note is that the Jet Hot header primaries are not all 1 piece like with the Kooks but are made up of multiple pieces of pipe welded together. I'm guessing a good chunk of the cost went towards the ceramic coating which is why the construction is not as good as regular kooks headers. The ceramic coating on the headers does look really nice though.

Well ended up returning the jet hots and ordered some regular kooks headers. If there's one thing i've learned when buying mods is, Buy nice or buy twice. Not that the jet hots were terrible by any means, definitely still better than bbk headers, but i wouldn't trust them to hold up for 10+ years especially if you daily drive your car.

Thanks, having a shop do the install. I installed kooks headers on my 14 GT and it was a PITA to say the least, even with access to a lift. That's why i'm taking the easy way out this time.

That's some great info to have out there. Back when I was header shopping, I was heavily leaning toward the Jet Hot headers. I was willing to take a step down in stainless steel material to gain the super nice coating they have. But I also did not know they were missing the collector spike and had different primary designs. I ended up buying Texas Speed and I am super satisfied with them.
