I spent most of my life single in the Military. I actually enjoy cooking and even buy the food I enjoy making. My wife has the 50K+ job so she pulls her weight. She has it made IMO though as I cook, clean and wash my own clothes and still work 40 hours a week and pay the $2200 mortgage. She does pay ALL the utilities to include our phones and car insurance on 3 vehicles. I'd say she has the better end of the deal, lol. She does make a bomb ass cheesecake though!

When we started our careers out of college, my wife was the bread maker (still is). Honestly, one of the major factors in me getting the 500.

So, anyways, I was talking to a guy at work and he was asking about my car, then eventually he said, "Boy, that (my company name) must be good."

"Nope, that's Walgreens money." I replied and informed him that my wife was the bread winner of the house.

"That sucks. How does that make you feel?"

"Well, I got a Mustang and that makes me pretty happy."

That old, traditional mindset at play. He thought it was a negative that my wife made more than me. Idiot.

Ok, sorry for the book. Carry on... I gotta make sammiches for the wife.

My first hot samitch maker was a stay at homer. She would pack a cold or hot lunch, depending on the weather. As the relationship faded, the last lunch she packed me was two white bread pieces with one piece of cheese (still in the wrapper) no condiments. She put it in a brown paper bag. As I sat in morning traffic with my apprentice on the way to the job, I reached in grabbed the so called sandwich took a bite......I'll never forget how hard he laughed at my wonderful life.

Fast forward.......I love my new samitch maker. I learned from the bad, how to appreciate the good!

What I wanted to be when I grew up: a trust fund baby.

My parents are solid upper middle class, so that wasn’t really ever an option.

My next choice was to marry a rich woman and be a house husband.

But I’m no prize, so that wasn’t really ever an option either. Lol

I’d have zero issues if my wife made more than me.
