Hey, folks. Noob question for y'all. Got a Centerforce DYAD dropped into my '13 Cobra and I'm getting a lot of new clatter from the shifter...almost sounds like something is loose. This happens anytime I move the shifter, whether I'm putting it in gear or not. Is this normal?

Is this chatter with the car moving and clutch out? Not uncommon to hear some clutch chatter noise when low in the RPM band (like 1500) during normal accelerating.

+1 on what merkyworks said. Mine use to drive me nuts! I installed an MGW gen 2 shifter and eliminated 90% of it.

It happens when I'm putting it in gear or changing gears but seems to be independent of the clutch being in or out, which is what has me doubting the clutch is the cause (hence, the thread). Any time I move the shifter, it clatters or rattles. When it's in gear, if I wiggle the shifter, there's clatter that wasn't there before. As it's getting a little worse, it's started to do it without me touching the shifter at about 4k rpms, but it sounds more like vibration than anything else.

Mine did the exact same thing. Only had 6,000 miles when it started. The tepping, vibrating sound would go away when I pried on the shift lever.

I checked everything! 2 different ford dealers looked at it and both agreed it was not normal but could not find it. They refused to drop the tranny without a failure of performance. I determined it was a vibration in the transmission/clutch for sure, that resonated thru the shifter. When I replaced the factory unit with the MGW, bingo! Barely noticeable now.
