So I'm pretty much pegging my MAF with a Gen3, 3" upper/10% lower combo with a VMP twin 69/JLT 123 on 93 pump. Tuner won't give me any more spark or boost due to high load in the logs and the MAF issue. I went through a few months of trying to run a big mono/148 this spring and never got a hold of a TB that wouldn't failsafe when hot. I held on to the 148, though, figured I'd give it another shot later on.

If I want to add a little Boostane to every tank, though, he's willing to drop a few pulley sizes. This just leaves the MAF issue. Looking at JLT's website, they do not have a coupler that will fit a 148 up to a twin blade, so I gave them a call. Turns out they do actually have one, it's just not posted on the site, so it's on the way.

Any of you guys run a 148mm CAI with a twin blade? Any drivability or idle issues? I assume it'll be no different than running one with a big mono....

BOOYAH! I've got one, but never installed it. I don't know if there are any more around, but Ford Racing had a 140mm MAF that might not be as sensitive and still give you the resolution you need at WOT. I actually got the 148 used to cut down the tube to use with the 140. I guess I see where I'm headed.

That frpp 140 was a nice piece.

I went down this same route and was going to run 149 with my twin 69. Never used it though. NIP if you are interested.

I’ve already got the JLT 148 guys, that’s what I was originally running with the monos. Never got rid of it, so not interested in swapping out to yet another intake.

I’m just wondering how the street manners are? Haven’t heard a whole lot either way, so I’m guessing it’s most likely a non-issue.

Yeah you’ll be in the same boat buddy. Not having E85 around here is the real holdup. With the 3”/10% combo on the Gen3 I’m only seeing about 13.5psi at redline. Peaks at 15psi around 4K.

Leaving so much on the table, so I’ll give the Boostane a shot.

I used to run a TRUE dual 70mm throttle body (bored out from VMP dual 67mm with new bigger butterflies) along with my custom design and 3D printed 136mm CAI intake. Justin from VMP tuned my car and it runs with no issue. I think that's why he comes out the new dual 69mm throttle body.

Whipple doesn't use the vacuum line on the right side of the intake tube. Both Eaton blowers do
Not to mention that line is forward of the throttle plates, so it won't have a vacuum signal. Eaton uses an actuator by-pass motor that uses a a front barb for the opposite side of the diaphragm to vent to atmosphere. Ford routed it to filtered atmosphere inside the intake tube. If both sides of the valve had vacuum to both ports, it would be fighting with itself. Don't hook the forward barb to vacuum or the by-pass valve will stay closed.

I ran the 148 for a while with the BPS Twin(73MM IIRC), and had no issues. I moved to the Whipple Elliptical eventually. Driveability will be fine with a good tune.

I'm running the JLT 148 tube thru the KB168 mono blade. The only difference between stock and/or my old VMP 67 Twin is it idles at 900-950rpm. Off idle, pressing down the pedal, cruising anywhere from 1800 -mid 4000rpms just to hear it singing.....zero issues with stumble, stutter or surge. WOT is linear. No problem with tuning the 148.
