Floorboard Knock

Hey guys, I've got my terminator acting up. So when I am driving I am getting a considerable knock in my floorboards that can be felt there and through the pedals. I know that it doesn't have anything to do with the brakes or engine directly because no matter the speed or if i use the brakes I can still feel the knock. The only tricky part is that it isn't happening every time I drive the car. It occurs probably every other drive or so. Its also my daily right now. Its almost like something popping in and out of place. Please help!
*EDIT*
It only happens when moving, does not change with engine rpm, and seems to happen more on really hot days like this August in Texas has been.

I'll have to see... i kinda hate getting under my car these days. It did not appear broken the last few times I was under there though.

Unfortunately that's the only way you're going to figure out what the issue is. When it comes to weird noises we can give you ideas and places to look, but it's going to take a hands on approach to find it.

Did you do any work last time you were under there?

The last few times have been alternator swaps. I had a string of bad ones. I dropped the alt bracket each time and loosened the shield next to it and never fully refitted it, which could be a possible fix, but its no where near heavy enough to create the knocks that i feel in my opinion.

My first thought was going to be an exhaust pipe possibly hitting. But I think I'm going to have to agree with hotcobra03 and say it's along the lines of a mount.

I know you said speed didn’t matter but does it get slower or faster with engine rpm?
Does it knock if the car is sitting still or only when moving?

This also can make pedals shake.

I had one explode. It made the fork bang against transmission

At first it was intermittent than just loud
Sounded like a rod knock but

Ya I was going to say this also because I had this issue once. Of course depending on where on the floor board the knock is it could be many things.

I agree with the others.
Definitely check the rubber on the motor mounts and transmission cross member to see if it’s torn or separated.

The trans mount to trans bolts on my car were loose when I bought it, made a clunking/knocking sound until I found the issue and tightened them up.
