Hey guys. Working on fixing the oil cooler this weekend on my 03 Cobra with my friend. Need to replace the o-rings on the core. I bought the rebuild kit from Speed Concepts. When removing the filter stud, I'm assuming it's counter-clockwise? Also, should anything be pulled off first to make it easier to get to the cooler? Anything else I should know? :)

Thanks!
Chris

Chris, I'm on mobile so I can't find the link, but I know on the modularfords.com terminator table of contents there is a great write-up that should have everything you need.

yes 1/2" hex, counter-clockwise to remove.

this is one of the few fasteners on the terminator where i do not agree with the torque value as specified in the factory service manual. it is not enough and causes them to leak prematurely. i always make sure to use the german torque spec of "gutentight."

The service manual torque spec of about 50 ft lbs is appropriate and actually better than what was originally used at Romeo when the engine was built: 40-44. Mine never leaked from the factory, but I also used 50 on the new Aluminator and it has been perfect. Going too high could always crack the housing.

A bunch on the oil cooler ---> Cooling

Here's the actual install sheet from Romeo:

Thanks for the help guys! We ended up just tightening the oil filter stud to see if that fixes it. Hopefully that's all it is.
