i just got my 03 cobra 2 weeks but I’m trying to decide porting the stock blower or just saving for a upgraded blower.
I currently have a off-road x-pipe and cat back, 2.76 pulley, jlt CAI.

Would I need to look in to drive train upgrades with a bigger blower. What’s the limitations on the IRS?

More will comment.....around 600-700rwhp I believe s the limit on stock stuff..Would still need clutch and trans work(input shaft) at that level though.
may need fuel as well...

And go with VMP or Whipple..IMO

Just skip it. It costs a lot to make the eaton work for you. If you go with something VMP/Kenne/Whipple you're basically set up to a big hp number and the blower won't be a bottleneck for a long time.

Which has a better whine??? I like the sound a lot and I don’t want to lose it if I have the choice?

Not sure how to upload them on here since the files were too large, but I can email them to you from my work address if you prefer.

Yeah I talked to my tuner shop (Gearheads) and they like Whipple. I really like the sound off the older 2.2kb. Does anyone sell them anymore?

Id have to say Whipple and agree with gearheads good guys there

Only way to find a 2.2 is to find one used. They don't last long once posted so you'd have to be quick. And plan on a rebuild. I think the VMP's have a decent whine.

I had a Posi Ported Eaton put on about 300 miles ago, it’s coming off for a Whipple. While I don’t mind the Eaton at all I just want a little more.

Yeah I was in the market for a ported blower but not for what people want to sell them for

As always you need to look at your goals and budget to make your decision. On my first terminator I had the stock blower off the car and a ported blower ready to drop on the car when I decided to sell the ported blower and go aftermarket. I'm damn glad I made that decision as I would have been tired of the ported blower after a month or two.

If you want to go on the cheap you can get away with
60lb injectors $250
MAF $150
BAP $200
Tune $250-400
Blower (possibly throttlebody if going monoblade) $1800-$2500 for a used 2.3L another $300 for a TB.

Thats enough to get you going and making 600rwhp, if you don't track the car the drivetrain will last for a while. If you're really on a budget get an early 2.3 Whipple they can be found for under 2k, if you have a little more cash go 2.3 TVS.
