I wonder if the base C8 has a LSD? If it does, throw on some sticky tires, and the 51 package really isnt needed lol. It's basically just bigger brakes.
Yea no lsd in the base. Not too sure how 100% necessary they are on mid engine cars. It would suprise people how many mid engine supercars dont or didnt have them. Majority of formula cars are also open diff.

that's true, the engine weight is going to plant the tires pretty good.

Honest question: How much, if at all, do you think this C8 MAY oversteer? All you 911 guys may have some decent insight into this.

FlahDah man.
well Chevy ....you finally did it to me. I have always been a Mustang Fan Boi ....but now the temptation is too great...I am 99% sure I am going to sell the stang in a few months to buy a C8. I am curious how many of you are in the same boat? The styling, the body, the speed, the technology, the price ....it's a wet dream for ANY car fanatic. I can honestly say I have never thought about buying a corvette. But at this point, one would be stupid NOT to buy one.
Depends if you havebtontote kids around. I plan to swap out rhe sneaky fast bmw and go Corvette. At 55 the timing is right.

OK Bozos, stop clowning around.

Patience is a virtue. People will be well served to see what comes of the C8. Let GM get them sorted out first.

It will be interested to see how Insurance companies rate for all the new F1 wannabes stepping into this car.

Other car companies are not just going to roll over and play dead. It will be interesting to see how they respond.

Highly considering getting rid of the Hellcat for one. I've had my fun with straight liner performance cars, but I think it's time to switch it up.

I have learned my lesson many times though, to not ever buy a first year GM product. I would love to see the Z06 or higher performance model but don't know if I'd want to swing payments on a $100K car.

I’m a Ford fanboy so there’s no way I’m buying a Chevy no matter how good it is. My next car will be a project car that will involve 4X4 unless I find an SN-95 for a great deal.

I don’t see any one else truly committing to spend millions on development to bring another midship car that competes at this price point. I hope I’m wrong, would love to see healthy competition, we as consumers and enthusiasts win!

I think you might see a competitor that no one expects step up...my dark horse prediction would be Genesis.

I know this prediction will probably get most howling in laughter. Other established luxury marques don’t want to mess up their pricing hierarchy. Ford and Chrysler are two weak. Nissan is failing. The only other companies with enough R&D and in need of a halo are Toyota and VW. VW has it already it in porsche, Audi, Bugatti etc.. Toyota’s attempt t the Supra appears to have fallen short. Honda/Acura missed the mark by overpricing the NSX by 100K.

You are probably correct but one can dream others will step up.

Let's all be honest for a second...if Ford came out with a 500 hp mid engine car for less than 60K, we'd all be doing back flips. Kudos to GM, they hit it out of the park with the C8. I've always been a Mustang and Vette fan, blind brand loyalty sucks. I still have my C4 ZR1 Motortrend David Kimble cutaway poster that I had on my wall in high school.

I'm sure the C8 will live up to its hype. I'm going to give it a few years for GM to get the bugs out and see what the high performance will bring. Count me in the "I'm buying a C8" camp!
