Interested in your thoughts on it and how you felt about the Z

I have zero negative things to say about the Z...these are two different cars on very different levels of the food chain.

Chevy hit a massive grand slam with the C7z IMO. You get soooo much car for the money. Pretty good auto trans, tons of mod potential and a car that can get into the 9 sec 1/4 mile range pretty easily with low amounts of money invested to do it.

Interior on the C7Z (3LZ) was dam nice, not Mercedes/Audi nice but considering how terrible the C6 was I would say it was a huge huge huge improvement.

The C7Z even with all the refinement it had, was still a raw sports car that wanted to occasionally bite you if you got too crazy. There was several occasions when I had traction control off but advancetrack on and the car would go completely sideways and then other occasions when it would not even go a little sideways and advancetrack would kick in instantly. I think Chevy did that on purpose to make the car a little bit unpredictable! Ha!

When I got my E63S a few months back it was a real eye opener for me. I had been slightly sleeping on how good these AMG cars are and I started watching videos/reading reviews on what car would really fill the void of the vette in their lineup. I came up with the AMG GT/GTS/GTR.

The mod potential on the GTR was the best option as the turbos on those are better BUT all I really wanted was a 10 second luxury missile that still handled great. I preferred the looks of the GTS over the GTR and settled on looking for one of those. I spoke with Pat at Renntech yesterday before I bought it and he told me you can get these cars with tune only into the high 10's low 11's. That's a perfect spot for me.

My initial driving impressions of the GTS are THIS THING IS BADASS! haha. It literally handles like its on rails. I would imagine the Z handles better but for me the GTS feels so much easier to control. The level of refinement is on a level I have never experienced and the interior is literally a work of art.

The GTS trans and engine are excellent. It runs mid 11's stock.

The sound...hard to beat the chevy v8 but this thing sounds sooooo good. There is a button on console to open up the exhaust and when you do that the car is actually loud. It gurgles and pops and you have to wonder how the hell this thing got through emissions. haha.

I also love all the modes it has.

The best part is I literally paid half price for this car. It was 150K and I paid about half of that. I got an extended warranty on it too.

All that being said I will miss my Z. I will add it to my list of incredible cars for the money. There only getting cheaper too!

Congrats , they are definitely nice cars . I looked at amg gtr before . I just don't like the rear profile of them .C7Z looked better outside but the AMG has better powertrain and interior then the C7Z

Great review. The GTS is a sweet car.

How does it compare to the e63? Dont they have the same powertrain?
