Anyone running the Davies Craig EBP25 IC pump?

My stock pump is showing signs of going out, so I need to figure this out sooner than later.

From what I have read it is a direct replacement for the Bosch and pretty close to the Pierberg pump on the 13/14 for cheaper and direct fit.

Anyone using this pump with success? Any added benefit to the extra flow with any difference at all with IAT2 temps? Or just a more reliable pump to hold me over?

EDIT since this post is old and I already have the pump in and running for a couple months

No one knows anything about this pump?
Sounds like the lightning guys have used this as a pretty much direct replacement to my knowledge.

Havent heard of them, at least not on this section of SVTP. As long as it has similar output flow to the Pierberg, you're golden. Biggest thing you need to keep in mind with a more powerful pump is that you'll need to create a custom hose routing system.

Essentially, you'll need to have main flow BYPASS that reservoir. So the reservoir will need to be on a parallel flow circuit on the intercooler output line to the pump. Traditionally on 07-12, its routed to hit the reservoir first, then the reservoir feeds the pump.

If you try this with a higher flow pump like the Pierberg or this this Davies craig pump, you'll aerate that crap out of your IC fluid. Will lead to boil overs and very poor cooling.

The 13-14 featured, from the factory, a reservoir bypass hose routing. Essentially, the reservoir is just there to purge the system. Works better with the factory small reservoir. The larger aftermarket 3x reservoirs are kind of a PITA because of where the input port is relative to the IC output hose.

It looks to be the same size as the Bosch so I was trying to avoid all the extra BS to mount it that the Pierburg does.
I do not have one of the 3x res in plastic, but I do have a larger Moroso single tank setup. Not sure where the ports are relative to stock.
I messaged you about this earlier because when you did yours there was talk of this same pump on your post. I thought you knew something about it. Its rated at 6GPM, brusless and supposedly direct fit, but still trying to confirm

When I was upgrading the pump i wanted to stick with the OE unit just because its a very good and known unit.

If you can get the same or near the same performance as a Pierberg Unit in a Bosch package thats a win if you ask me! Though the mounting of the Pierberg in my remote location wasnt all that bad.

Are you mounting in the factory position or relocated position?

I have an afco HE that has the mount on top of the He. Not sure if that is stock or not? But I wanted to keep it there for ease of use.

Yes, thats the OE location for 07-12. For 13-14 its bolted to the front of the drivers valve cover.

Ive seen people get and mount the Pierberg ont he 07-12 stock lcation, but it takes some custom brackets and mounting to make it work. Hopefully this pump gives you a clean OE mounting solution with improved performance!

Thanks, I hope so as well. I just want minimal work and need something better quicker than having to screw with making custom brackets.
I guess I’ll just jump in head first after my wot box is done

Subscribing! I have the Davies Craig EBP25 pump in my 2002 Lightning and it has worked flawlessly for over 4 years now. If this is a direct fit for a 2012 GT500, I will install on it also. Can the pump be replaced by simply removing the radiator cover on the GT500? I don't want to move the front clip unless I have to.

I looked at mine yesterday and it can probably be done by the rad panel, but it will be tight for sure. Did you notice any performance gains with the pump on the lightning? My understanding is the LIghtning uses the same pump as the GT500 from OEM?

I wasn't running any gauges at the time, so I can't say if I noticed any changes. I installed the Davies Craig EBP25 because it is a brushless design that shouldn't have to be replaced for a long time. It flows a little more than stock so at the minimum it was a mild upgrade. The install on the GT500 looks doable from the radiator cover but it is indeed tight down there.

I can't help on the pump, but I think you can access the pump on (11-12 at least) removing the radiator cover. I ended up reusing my pump but moved for VMP triple pass so had bumper cover off. But this pics makes me think it can be done.

It would be pretty damn tight, maybe can be done. I'd just remove the front bumper....takes about 10 minutes.

I tried installing my EBP25 pump thru the top thinking the same- just pull the top panel. You can see the pump, but it was impossible to get my pliers to clamp down on the clips so I could rotate enough and slide them off.

You gotta spend the extra 20 minutes or so to get the front bumper off; the bottom panel was a pain since there's 20 bolts & screws [3-different sizes] to remove.

Don't forget to have a bucket of fresh soapy car-wash stuff and towels or rags to wipe off xxx miles of grime & bugs while you have the bumper off.

The OEM Bosch pump is the exact same for Lightning/Cobra/GT500 [07-12]; only the mounting brackets are different for each vehicle.

I've got this exact EBP25 pump on both my Lightning & GT500; OE connector clicks right on to the EBP25 pump. But I ended up installing AFCO two-pass heat-exchangers w/o the fans at the same time [L & GT500].

I'm not sure how to do this on my 2012, But I've opened the cap on my Roush Perf oversized overflow tank & didn't see any foam forming after a local drive.

When the car is on & the pump is running, I do see alot of "action" or circulation going on inside the tank though....

But I don't see any way of "purging" the GT500 intercooler/heat-exchanger system, except for doing a couple of runs & opening the cap to relieve any trapped air...

I'm fairly certain it can be done without removing the bumper. Guess I'll have to order the part and find out. Thanks for all tips and suggestions.

I have all kinds of tipped & sized pliers including this one for the OE pressure clamps...
17100 Flat Band Hose Clamp Pliers

Which these pliers fit over the hoses but had no room to "rotate" left or right.... but hey post what ever tricks you figured out to get it done.
During install, I re positioned the clamps so that if I ever had to do this again, I can do it without pulling the bumper off.

Realistically if you have fluid flow into your reservoir, your about as purged as its going to get. If you have any kind of aeration, thats all from the turbulent entry into the reservoir.

I may try and find a skinner set of those pliers. I think its possible, but I have to remove the bumper i'm just going 13-14 intercooler pump. I'll post results when done.
