I’m very curious to see what C7ZR1 pricing does. I do t think the base C8 will impact it much but maybe once the C8Z is unveiled we’ll see what happens

Impossible to guess the effect. The C7 and C8 are different enough they could be looked at as commodities separate from one another. They just happen to share the same Corvette name.

Maybe it will be like the dollar vs the dollar (Canadian). Same name, but it was way more fun going to Hawaii at $1.05 to the C$ than it is now at when my C$ only buys 65 cents. Both are dollars but one is just a better more valuable one.

Likewise, the C8 vs C7 pricing. If the C8 is a giant POS with huge developmental issues the price of the C7Z could potentially go up in the used market. If it's a huge winner, C7Z goes down.

And if it goes down, I'll be right there waiting.

As much as I think I’d want a C8Z, the practical person in me says C7Z and enjoy all the money I’ll save. I’ll be more curious about the ZR1 as that’s already a limited production car and I don’t think prices will drop. If they did however to a reasonable range it would likely be worth spending the extra as again, limited run car and last front engine ZR1 so it could hold better value and be seen less out there down the road.

I'd like to see the manual C7 ZR1 hold value as it's a dying breed in 2 ways. But if it drops I'll be there waiting...

Any thoughts on expected value of c7z vert? These seem to trade at a discount at moment but IIRC its the only zr1 vert produced.

I'm not really digging it yet. Maybe it'll grow on me, but I don't really like it much, especially the interior. I'm sure the Z06 will be more sporty and wild looking.

These photos are from a friend's Facebook post. I cannot take credit for these photos. lol

Not anytime soon although I have a hard on for a C7ZR1 and am keeping my eyes out for deals on these when the C8 drops.

This x1000.

C7z06 has a tiny blower and I’m just not impressed.

ZR1? Totally different story and I’d sell a nut for one.

Can’t wait to see prices drop and stabilize.

of course the C7s are going to come down in price. ALL cars eventually come down. Unless you are talking about Vipers with limited production =P

I will say ....a 2015-16 C7Z would be bad ass ....and you can nab them for about 60k, so same price as the C8. I might actually consider that route. In hindsight the C8 might be just as fast as the C7Z. And it may be better on the track.

I agree. I think the C7Z’s especially the manuals will hold their value fairly well. The last year for a front engine Corvette and last year for a manual transmission (at this time anyway).
I’m a die hard Ford Mustang guy threw and threw but I can’t help but be impressed with the C8 (except the ass end view) and am following closely to see how they perform. Looking forward to seeing what they do with Z06 and ZR1 models too. I guess maybe I’m just wanting to learn my enemies lol.
Seriously though I think it’s pretty cool pulling of a mid engine car like this and keeping it well under 100k. I wonder how long it will take for someone to make a gull-wing or Lambo type door conversion? I would have to guess not long.

the c8 should perform very very well for "only" 500hp. The c8z will be insane but also 85-95k lol

If I would be in the market for a mid engined car, then yes. Ofcourse, the car is a homerun.
But I'm not. Because I've already got my dream car and I feel no urge in having a flappy paddles car, if I want that I'd just go out and buy a diesel BMW with it for a daily driver.

But the car seems absolutley great.
Chevy really outdid themselves this time.

I heard it somewhere that the base C8 will be faster than every vette before it except the c7ZR1. I think this was in the release presentation? Of course this can mean a lot of things. I would doubt it would pip a c7z06 in the 1/4 but I could see it outrunning it on most tracks. 0-60 is for sure faster than c7z06.

The base certainly wont be on 4 season tires. The Z51 maaaybe edges out a C7Z in some scenarios. Still has a big tire defecit

c8 w/ 51 package is claimed to be 2.9 / 0-60 which is right there with the c7z06. Absolutely insane. Most mid engine cars are going to dominate front engine cars at the road course just based on physics. C8 should be low to mid 11s.

I wonder if the base C8 has a LSD? If it does, throw on some sticky tires, and the 51 package really isnt needed lol. It's basically just bigger brakes.
