just bought a Telluride for the wife. Once that's paid off, i plan on buying a C8. I'll never get rid of my Cobra, but I'm pretty much done with the Ford camp.
I will say I will never be "done" with Ford or Dodge. However this is the first time I am actually loving a Chevy.

Oooo Sick burn.

Nothing new? Name another sub 3 second 0-60 American car that isn’t powered by electric motors sub $75K.
aint gonna happen. I was watching youtube and the vid was comparing a shit load of cars, 0-60 and pricing. Nothing comes even close to the C8. Really the only "close" competition is the GTR which is WAY more expensive. For the looks, the tech, and the speed, the C8 is #RE-DONK-U-LUSS

I moved to the dark side after what my pos 350 put me through. If I’m honest, I truly feel like I’ve gotten way more car for my money in this ZLE than I did with the 350.

It feels like a kick in the nuts how much they’re charging for the 500, and then a full on drop kick to the jewels after telling you the CFTP isn’t even attainable(to most) even if ya have that much extra cash. It’s not cute, ford.

My girlfriend and her family are corvette people...her dad has a ZR1. The mustang/vette rivalry has been fun, but i may not be able to justify it going forward. So i may be looking at one if the DCT looks fun enough.

I laughed pretty hard when Chevy dropped this 60k machine.
at this point Ford is out of their ****ing mind. Even the Mustang is 40 grand. The new GT500 pricing is retarded. I think Ford is hurting for money and that's why they are passing the buck to consumers.

I would still rather buy a used Gen V Viper over this. As amazing as the new C8 is, I want a more analog experience.
GenV is sick too. But also more like 80 grand, not 60. If I didn't have my gen2 I would probably buy a V. Or I'll just steal my dads Voodoo hahaha.

For the price point or a little above, think I would rather have a lightly used Hellcat.
I like Hellcats too. However the C8 looks X 1000000000 better.

Not me. I personally like the older stuff. Other than my daily driver.

you don't gotta tell me, I have a 98 lol.

Not a snowballs chance in hell.
what's wrong sweat heart ?

Both Vettes we had were for the wife. If we decided to get a C8 it will be hers as well. I only drive when we go somewhere together.
To answer the OP, We are seriously considering it.
I'm gonna call it "the wifes car" LOL .... what a glorious trick .... but really... I'll let her drive it. But she CANT drive the Viper cause #6speed

Gotta be realistic, the first year c8 will have mark up. Even if people claim they are getting at MSRP, we'll see. The C7s had markup and there was nothing segment shifting about the c7. The c8 being mid engine already has a ton of hype. Expect to pay more than the $60k price tag. I'm thinking expect 75-80k.

For the price of a c8 next year, the real question is c8 or c7z?
Give me the C7Z. In manual too, since those are disappearing.

The average minimum wage was less than $1.50 through the 60's and the median wage wasn't much more than that. $8 was nice money back then.
I bet. He was making $3 per hour. His boss gave him a 10 cent raise and his co-workers below him a 25 cent raise. They egged him on to go talk to the boss to see why he only got a 10 cent increase. Boss told him he was at the max cap and that was all he could give him. He goes for an interview at another place and they offer him a lot more. He goes back to his boss and hands him a one week notice. Boss tells him he'll raise his rate 25 cents. He asks his boss how he could do that since he told him earlier he was capped?! Boss says yes but he can raise it if he wants to. He tells his boss well they are going to pay me $8 which is a lot more than your $3 per hour. Boss says oh! LOL!

@nxhappy Careful, I think @Revvv would fight you for the infinity poster title.

Also, I think youre right about Ford. They have a few bright spots currently, but overall the ship is WAY off course from when Alan Mulaly stepped down.

Ive said it before, and Ill say it again: JIM HACKETT NEEDS TO GTFO.

I might even buy some Ford stock to send angry letters to Ford as an investor. haha

Pretty much this, the C7Z is going to be a steal of a deal.

Several dealers selling at MSRP the only issue is you might be waiting on allocations for a few months. Quick search on CF will get you a listing of MSRP dealers. The only reason you will pay over sticker is if you have to have the first round of deliveries.

With that said i'm holding onto my M7 Z till the C8Z is revealed.

Funny how they always magically find that extra when push comes to shove. Been there done that before!

I like that GM produced the C8, I'm actually impressed. That said, I hope it makes people want to dump their C7Z so I can scoop one up for my next car. I was hoping to get a GT500 (used), but it doesn't sound like it will be released by the time my current lease is up to buy one on the used market. I had signed my current lease thinking the GT500 would hit the streets this year. Good job ford, we are going on year number 6 without a GT500.

I'm eagerly awaiting some real world tests of the C8. A lot of internet bench racing going on at the moment--show me the track times and real world results.

The C7 GS would probably be my choice out of the 3 (C6Z, C5Z, C7 GS) Fit and finish is much better in the C7. I had a C5Z and loved it, but the interior quality left a lot to be desired, IMHO the C6 ain't much of step up either. I used to not care so much about those things, but as I get older I have started to...

I never understood why people don't like the C6 interior. It's been one of my favorites, and I've had some nice cars: jeep srt, m3, is 300, golf r (you'd be surprised at the interior on the top tier golf r), etc... The C6 interior was nearly perfect to me, especially in 3LZ form.

The car was very driver oriented, large tach, large speedo, and all the right supporting gauges: oil temp (displayed electronically), oil pressure, voltage, coolant temp. To top it all off, it had a heads-up display that worked well. Everything was soft-touch materials, outside of the 'carbon fiber' console surround, which to me was also tastefully done. 3LZ got you leather covered everything and nice stitching to go with it.

The AC controls were dedicated and sparse: just the basics and the auto function worked well. The AC vents were in just the right places. The radio was okay, but it was a simple double din--so replacing it with an aftermarket unit was really easy and still looked like it belonged in the car. All the new cars have custom displays and integrate other functions into the radio display (or, I suppose now it is called an infotainment display)--good luck replacing that with something better from the aftermarket.

Might be holding out for a year. My brothers friend is in the dealer industry working on software so he has connects to dealerships, he paid I believe 74k for a c7 stingray in 2014 when they came out, but didnt get the car till 2015.

We'll see when it comes to signing for the car, I bet some of those ppl will be pissed they paid more than 60k and I'm not even talking about TTL. Again, my bet is these car will be going for mid 70s to 80k, and more for the loaded option.

I have no idea how long the first year rollout will take so it is what it is. I can't speak to your friends situation but plenty paid sticker first year. If he didn't sounds like he either had to have the very first batch or isn't that connected. Again plenty of dealers with allocations selling at MSRP right now. I was offered MSRP at my local Dealer in Alexandria and Criswell in MD has quite a few up for grab. I simply have no desire for a base model so I passed.

The current base model can be optioned out to mid 80's so not sure what your point is. This car will be priced similar to the current generation plus a normal new model increase. If you want a stripper 1lt 60k car order it that way.

The dude is connected, if I wasnt making a decent amount I would try to get in his company. I definitely agree he paid more then what he could have paid. Maybe he worked something out? All he buys are chevy cars anyways.

it's actually around 58.9k for base. The Z51 will be about 65k. With the upper end options it will be 70+. Still though for what you get it's a steal. Honesty for daily I'd rather have the auto trans.
