well Chevy ....you finally did it to me. I have always been a Mustang Fan Boi ....but now the temptation is too great...I am 99% sure I am going to sell the stang in a few months to buy a C8. I am curious how many of you are in the same boat? The styling, the body, the speed, the technology, the price ....it's a wet dream for ANY car fanatic. I can honestly say I have never thought about buying a corvette. But at this point, one would be stupid NOT to buy one.

If I was in the market for a brand new American performance car, it’d probably be the first choice. Z51 package of course.

If I was in the position and market for a new toy, I would be after a C8.

Sent from my [mind] using the svtperformance.com mobile app

That's the thing, I am in the market.

I went to a Ford dealer that I have been doing business with for over 20 years. I was going to replace my GT350. They wanted $90k and refused to take the ADM off. I asked about the new GT500. They told me $120k for everyone else, but "may" sell one to me for $115k.

Why would I do that? I can buy a Ferrari f430 for $75k and a 458 Italia for about $120k. I would much rather have a 2013-2014 Ferrari than a new Mustang.

I only ever experiences a bit of Ford fan-boyism(?)... I have always appreciate most any car. I'm probably a bit pro-American biased, and appreciative of German, English, ect. I have not been a big fan of much from the asian markets, maybe WRX.

All that said, I have considered Corvette before, I don't have a bias against them. They are the leading high performance American sports car, especially with Viper gone. I don't think Corvette will ever be Ferrari or Lamborghini good, and that is fair because they are worlds apart in pricing... besides, I would rather function over pretentiousness every day, and that is probably true to most Americans and why we don't build many exotics.
Will I buy? Maybe used, if they hold up to the hype. I'm far too frugal to take that depreciation hit, and dont need to own it. It is a sharp car, I don't like some of the lines on the hood and rear, but if it performs, it isn't ugly... I think the performance for the used value will need to be very high.

The rear just doesn't look appealing to me. I like how they moved the exhaust from center to side but it just looks way too "busy" in my eyes. Everything else looks and sounds great though.

It looks better with the body colored vents which is an option.

I am in the market but won’t take that depreciation hit. I’ll buy a slightly used one next Summer/Fall. For the time being I’m picking up a C7 Grand Sport to hold me over.

Very, very likely that I will buy one. Depends on how the front-end looks in person. I'm done paying too much for Ford products.
You must have never built a corvette before... I work on C7 vettes literally everyday at my shop making over 4 digit power all the time and trust me depending on your hp goals it is about the same price or a little cheaper to build the mustangs...

I think he was referring to vehicle purchase price and ADM’s. I could be wrong though.

I said I will but I change my mind every 10 minutes. I can say for sure I'd be buying this over a new 500. Great asp's build thread recently got me back on the superformance train.

the pricing for the 2020 GT500 just blows my mind. It seems like Ford is hurting for money so they are trying to price gouge everyone. Now here comes the C8, and bitch slaps every super car, for a third of the cost. I hope this causes other companies to make a better product at a lower price.

I agree, the ass end is my least favorite. However, in darker lighting, it looks a little better because you can see the lighting pop. The side profile is orgasmic.

When my wife graduates grad school we're getting her a vette. I had my heart set on a C7 grandsport, but she's eyeing that C8 pretty intently. I'm a die hard manual transmission guy, especially since we track our cars (I don't care what's faster, I do it for fun), but that C8 is definitely an appealing package... time will tell what we actually end up with, she may not have to try too hard to sell me on the C8... 500 naturally aspirated horsepower is a pretty good Siren's song.
