I bet you can find a nice used one for under that price

Really? The cheapest 991 GT3 RS's are in the 150's while the GT2's are in the 300k range unless I'm missing something. I think the only current gen GT car I can afford is a 991.1 GT3 maybe save for a bit and get a .2.

I've never actually seen it but I'm sure there's deals to be found somewhere

I really keep going back and forth between the R8, Turbo S, and waiting for the C8. My issue with the C8 is I refuse to play the ADM game. That means I'm likely waiting 2 years or so assuming they release a Z in 2021.

Never even considered a kit car. Definitely a possibility! Thanks.

Always wanted a Viper and Gen V's are dead sexy. May go test drive one to get a feel for them. Having a C7 Z and Viper in the garage would be a great combo!

This is probably the smart buy. I keep hearing that once I drive one I'll be hooked.

Drop dead sexy! Whats keeping me from looking at Huracan's and previous generation Ferrari's is the maintenance. Same thing that's keeping me from being sold on the the McLaren. Keep reading horror stories of 25k+ transmission replacements etc.

I think you're right. Before I choose I'm likely going to wait at least a year to get more concrete information on the new Z. If they manage to keep the weight in check and drop in A TT V8 that would be a great choice. Exotic looks crazy power and reasonable maintenance/upkeep.

Regarding the 458... Doesn't require the insane engine out services, etc that made the 348, 355, 360, and 430 such nightmares to own.

458 Italia maintenance & repair costs

The C8 Z06 would be worth waiting for before making a decision. We could very well get Senna level performance for less than $150k which would be insane

Hello All. I know this is a topic that's gone round and round so I apologize in advance for being that guy.

With that said long story short the wife and I have paid off all our debt and I'm exploring ideas of what my next toy will be. I've had an 11 Shelby, more than one Gen 2 CTS-V, and currently a C7 Z. Absolutely love the Z06 but with the new found financial freedom I've got the itch for something new or maybe added to the stable.

I've been throwing around the idea of saving up a year or so and maybe getting into the baby exotic game or waiting to see what the C8 has in store for the Z(HiPo) variants. Below are some of the cars I've been considering. Let me know what you all think and any suggestions.

Replacement for the Z06
C8 Z06
R8 V10+(2017)
991 Turbo S - Love the performance but prefer the GT 3 looks.
570S - Maintenance costs scare the crap out of me.
NSX - I really want to like them

Addition to the Z06
Gen V Viper
GTR
Gen 2 CTS-V - Really enjoyed my previous 2. Would be a great DD.
Camaro and a sex change. Sorry, not helping I know.

I’d wait and see what the c8z brings. Or get another ctsv to hold you over. $120k doesn’t put you in solid, reliable, low mileage 458/huracan/570-s territory if you ask me. Others may disagree but whatever. I haven’t priced out v10 r8’s recently, but you might be disappointed if you didn’t get the v10+ model.

I don’t think you lose anything by waiting a year until we hear more about the c8 models to come.

I'm not sure where you guys are finding these Huracans for his budget. lol. The cheapest I've found is $170k or so.

That being said, I'd absolutely wait for the C8Z06 to come out, OP. That should be an absolute MONSTER of a car.

I think the general consensus is to wait and see what the C8 Z brings to the table before I make any decision. If it's a 2021 model year that should be this time next year hopefully, so more time to save up I guess. Thanks for the opinions all. Hopefully I can keep myself out of the classifieds and car sales website. Worst case scenario I get to enjoy my M7 Z06 till i make up my mind. Not a bad place to be.

c8z rumor is a 5.2 TT, probably 700hp. Price point most likely 85-90k. The C8 is a game changer for sure. I'll be happy with a base C8 LOL.....maybe a 100 shot to keep up "with the big dogs"...
