This must be a new thing because I just saw them use a cow on shark week to attract tiger sharks. Was mildly disturbing at first.

It is my understanding that cow heads are basically throw away parts from the butcheries. Not much you can do with them anymore. Too risky to sell for human consumption because of mad cow disease. So I’m sure zoos get these on the cheap to feed the carnivores.
