Hi all,

Today I'm going to go look at a cobra. I want the dealer to perform a compression test on this before I make any decision on it. I've done some searching and found that you want 15% difference between each cylinder max. I'm just curious as to what numbers I should be looking for?

Some test results that I've seen while searching have had numbers in the 150's others have been as high as 180-190. Just curious as to what may be an alarming test result, and what may be considered perfectly normal test number wise? Or just look for the 15% regardless how high or low the results are.

Thanks for any help given,

Chris

Its about the difference between each cylinder. I thought the difference was no more than 10% across the cylinders though. If any of them come in less than this I would walk if you don’t want to plan on negotiating the price down to fix it.
