If anyone is interested in a nib LDC head cooling mod i have it. Its the only one designed with EGR in mind, i bought this one as a spare but really shouldn't ever need it. $275 shipped.

I just did the mmr top cooling mod on my 1999.
I pointed out the lack of pics of how much the 99-01 & mach1 intake had to be filed, considering how long the mod has been around; so I supplied them with pics. I blocked my crack pipe off and feed the two an8 top heads to the heater core instead, unrestricted.

I guess their top head kit is not an option for the SC cobras because of clearance issues with the SC.

I did look at the head cooling mod in this thread, but couldn't see any way to do it with the motor in. Hell removing the metal valley cooling line bolts was a bear.

The only way I could see it being done would be to brace the motor up top, drop the kmember, install long bolts in the transmission brace and lower the front of the engine with the cross brace. Even then, I couldn't see those left freeze plugs being accessible. Then there was the serviceability issue should something go wrong.

Yea the part about being able to access them for whatever reason when the car is put together never really crossed my mind. Very good point.

Also..the ict billet parts might work as both the front bypass hose hole size diameter is the same as the rear; so those parts will fit into the back of the head too.

The mmr top hcm kit uses up a lot of height with the an8 elbows and threads.
Coming out straight from the ict fixture might make some room.
But others have shown some other ways of doing the top HCM for the SC cobras.

These go off to the side..but may be discontinued.

I realize MMR seems to have a love em or hate em following here. In their defense though I don’t think you should post a complaint about a company if you didn’t even contact them about an issue. However I also know that a lot of people have had issues with other things and DID reach out to them with no help. Still personally I would have to call them regarding the issue and give them a chance to fix it. If then they do nothing then post and bash away!

No real world instructions or pictures of a fully installed and running motor is ridiculous.
I bought one of the LDC cooling mods way back in the early days of the Terminator and they included step by step instructions with pictures of how to do a real world installation.

Ken

so true. They do have a love hate thing lol. You have been around as much as I have. Im sure you remember venomous john. venomous03cobra. Him and some other guy from the east coast (wont say who) had motors built by mmr at the same time. Both motors went at almost the same time with the same issue lol. Just sayin!! Others have great success with them. who knows right?? lol

I do remember him and somewhat remember that big ordeal with several motors going down from then around the same time. Yet if you go to the turboforums.com (turbomustangs.com) they seem to be loved by all and have people having great results.

Damn we have been around awhile haven’t we bro lol
