Any chance for more pics of wheel

The outside looks beat up also

I have stock wheels not chrome and have a lot of miles on them and don’t look anything like yours

I’m starting to think after market wheels. Vs salt on roads

I’m far south. Now snow here for salt

I’m originally from jersey. And that looks like damage we had along the shore from ocean water or winter snow

Still hard to see in pic if those are aftermarket

Mine oem has a bump in rotor area.

Where my tears are aftermarket and those are completely smooth across

That center cap. Is that glued on ?

That’s one issue with a lot is that oem svt cap doesn’t fit.

My rears fit but stick out of wheel

On oem it’s almost flush to a hair inside

That doesn't look like just a coating peeling off. And that looks like a lot of corrosion on the metal itself. I think it would be a good idea to pull them off and give them a close inspection.

I had the chrome peel of some OEM wheels. It peeled off the barrel on the inner lip on the out outside AND inside the tire. I could hear it when rolling it off the car but can't imagine it would be audible in the car moving.

Just get some aftermarket repops. You could also send your OEM wheels out to be re-chromed, but repops are easy.

Yeah, that's definitely chrome peeling, not the gray protective coating. What a mess! Regardless as to whether or not those are factory wheels or reproductions, I'd just call it a day and do what Goose recommended; get them re-chromed after fixing any metal oxidation issues. Or buy new wheels. Which would be the easiest option.
