Here's where I am as of today. I need to do a thread from the beginning and when I have the opportunity and the time I will. Anyway, this isn't everything but should provide a good idea of the work done to date.

And if it matters, I'm feeling much better and my hand is coming back. Cardiac rehab was a huge help.

Best of luck O.P! Most people with your medical issues would sit in the house and burn thru hours of TV feeling sorry for themselves.

I admire your drive to keep on keepin on!

Sounds great. Glad your feeling better. I can’t wait to see it finished.
What RPM does the E303 start running out of power?

Todd, I can't help but comment in the context of my previously owned GT350 - Windsor based engines peter out waay too early. I set the rev limiter in the 6AL box to 5700 rpm and I'm fairly certain things are done by then. Many are jumping on the Coyote bandwagon and that's cool as you get a bit more rpm and quite a power gain out of it. For me, I wanted old school simplicity as I'm not chasing mondo power with this one. I'll be lucky to have 325-350hp at the flywheel.

Thanks for the reply. I have a 68 coup with a 5.0 from a 89 in it. I just put a 4 barrel carb on it. When the previous owner put the motor in they used the old 2 barrel. Next is cam and heads and that cam you have sounds great. I knew they didn’t rev much. I love the direction you are going with this and I specifically passed on putting fuel injection on my 68 because in the 90’s I learned to tune a carb and find it really easy now like you. Love the combo you have and keep up the progress. 325-350 with a stick is a lot of fun in my book. Have a good night.

Thanks man.

Yeah, I have quite a bit of fuel injection hardware from intakes, harnesses, computers, sensors, throttle bodies, etc, and I will never use any of it. I'm just tired of the hassle. I always hated the EEC-IV idle control and it causes issues with the torque arm. If you are low in the rpm range and in gear the car will buck - not with a carb though. Having to purchase different mass air sensors, injectors, and maybe needing a tune gets old fast.

I just like being able to focus on the basics - air, fuel, and spark. There may be a loss in low rpm torque without the fuel injection but I see it offset in the upper ranges. And trouble shooting is fairly easy if you understand how things work. Plus I'll never be driving this thing in the snow so I'm not concerned with having to optimize everything with seasonal temperature and humidity variations.

So I saw an image while searching that brought me back to this thread and I noticed it was exactly a year ago when I last posted about all this. Time goes by way too fast, you know?

Anyway, I've really done nothing to the Fox as my focus has been elsewhere. The car fires right up and is ready to go to work but I just haven't gone there yet.

I'm guilty of directing most of my car attention to the GT500 I picked up. I'm close to done modding it, for now anyway, and just been enjoying it here and there. A friend stopped by yesterday and wanted to see about all the hype so I drove him out to no man's land, a couple of miles from my house. Nuke waste buried from the Manhattan Project and a toxic chemical incinerator/burial facility ensure no homes or commerce will be taking place anytime soon - perfect for 1/4 mile blasts. That's me in the car in this shot...

Drag Mode, launch control set to 2200, and we were mid elevens at over 65x2 without hazing the tires first for traction. It's a good feeling and my friend agreed.

Along the lines of this health shit I've continued to feel better. I did have to have my gall bladder taken out and that was just as fun as when my appendix blew a gasket a decade or so ago. I'm beat up, privy to some powerful meds, and moving forward cause it sure beats the alternative. I've been using the machines I have in my basement, as directed for strength, and this torture device I picked up last week...

I needed something more than a treadmill and an ancient bike in the house for cardio and the above fit the bill perfectly. High intensity for short duration. Has helped to lower my heart rate to a typically under 60 bpm and blood pressure is superb. Heart stitches are holding up well too, thank God.

So sooner or later (probably later) I'll get back to work on that ****ing evil Fox in the back.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

Scheduled track day in late September at Roebling Rd in Georgia. Driving the GT500 down to see George in Augusta and then drive to Roebling (a bit over 2hrs). He's bringing his newly acquired 2018 Porsche GT3. Can't ****ing wait. None of this would be possible without Cleveland Clinic and a great wife. I've learned to truly appreciate life and how important each moment is - everyone's life.
