The C8 looks very promising but I have to agree with many that the rear looks unresolved. It is just too busy looking with the parts larger than the sum of parts. I have seen renderings of the C8 that look much better than the revealed car. So I am sure it will be tweaked and improved on in following years.

Here is a comparison between the Ford GT and C8. I know the GT is in another class and much more expensive but still interesting to compare. The GT has a much more memorable rear.

not at my post...
I don't hate the rear of the C8, but I am not particularly crazy about it either. Chevy should have done center exit exhaust, but I understand why they didn't. Having a big, deep trunk well right there probably made that difficult.

I’d give the edge to the Vette, not by much though. It’ll only get better once the big brothers are released.

The GT is a work of art; therefore, reflected in the price. C8’s looks don’t compete there, neither does a regular Ferrari, short of La Ferrari, or other hyper cars, for that matter.

FGT has Hypercar looks. Base C8 has supercar looks.

The rear spoiler and exhaust really take away from the car. I’m sure the Z06 and ZR1 will correct that. Keep in mind that is is only the BASE vette.

It's just "Camaro-ish" and not traditional "Corvette." I don't hate the rear. It would look a lot better if the rear valence had vertical splitters that followed the body angles, and the tail-lights were round or radiused/rectangular. Nothing dramatic.

The C8 is too busy. It's like the designers got paid by the line/angle.

Something simpler along the lines of a C4/C5/C6 would be better.

Yeah, get rid of the C8's waffle cheek pads, or at least paint them to match the body color.... P.S. Waffle Cheek Pads is the name of my band.

I'm restating my misplaced earlier post. Yeah, get rid of the C8's waffle cheek pads, or at least paint them to match the body color.... P.S. Waffle Cheek Pads is the name of my band. Will somebody, photoshop the waffle cheeks from black to body color, please?

Agree the rear of the Vette is terrible. Too much Camaro IMO. They need to slim it down as well as tone it down IMO.

You can customize the colors at this site:

2020 CORVETTE STINGRAY

I chose body color for the vents in the rear - is that what you're referring to? It does look better in body color instead of black which just competes with the tail lights and adds to the busy look of the rear.

I agree with this. I don't believe any variant of the Corvette will compete with the looks of the Ford GT.

Now performance on the other hand... I won't be surprised if the Z06 is just absolutely insane!

The C8 looks amazing, but the GT is on a hole different level, hell even the 05/06 FGT looks insanely sexier than the C8. The C8 and McLaren 570 are a good comparison.
