So in 2023 Dodge will drop a 426 S/C that makes 900hp like they did with the Hellcat in 2015?

View attachment 1588802

I think the hell cat will hang on. It'll get it's 96-04 Cobra style run for 5-10 years, and then be shut down due to emissions or sales or redesign or something.

Then it'll come out again but be a new submodel or something. Cars go through life cycles.

God forbid we have another 2005-2010 run though. Pretty much every truck and car made in that year range was a royal POS with very little longevity. Or even worse, another recession so car sales take a nose dive and the used market booms but very little new cars are being put into circulation. Keeps making the average age of autos older and older and older every year.

Strip all the luxury out of it, reskin it and drop a TT-V6 based on the 3.5L into the car. This would have followed past Supra logic with the cross platform use found in the Toyota Soarer / Lexus SC300/400/430 and GS300/400/350/430.

They have that motor in the current LS500. 3.5TT, 416hp. Toyota says they were glued to the past and wanted an inline 6.

It's not like Toyota is hard up for cash or lacks RWD powertrains, platforms, transmissions, etc.

They took the lazy way out. Basically tuned a Z4 and tossed on a body kit.

I don't understand why Toyota didn't use the RCF platform with its killer 10spd.

Another option was stretching the GT86 chasis and shoving a bigger engine in it and nicer interior.

People stop caring when a car performs.

Lol yep. The fact SVTP spends significantly more time talking about other cars from different brands tells you all you need about the state of Ford Performance.

That's not fair to the actual Ford Performance fans here. This site has hoards of agitators who don't now or perhaps never have owned a single Ford product. They're here simply to stir up drama and fanboy about their favorite car/brand.

Bet you there is 20:1 1000whp C7s to GT350s.

You're saying there are more 1000WHP C7 than Ford even made of GT350s?? I'll take that bet! Heck, I'd even bet there's not much more than 20 total 1000WHP street legal C7s.

People stop caring when a car performs.

...

Tell that to the Ford GT. Granted, most of the "people" who care can't even afford one.

Point them out. $50 on that?

Yeah.... The Berge Auto group is really proud of their product. Earnhardts will wheel and deal, though everytime I go into Earnhardt or Rodeo Ford, they dont have any SVT/ Ford Performance cars in stock.

When the GT350 R's first came out, Rodeo Ford had a couple in the showroom. I was in the market, so I went to look at them. The sticker price ranged from $120K-$125K.

Over the years, dealers continued to ridiculously markup the price and I couldn't find anyone who would deal or budge.

As a result, I bought a GM product. I got a Cadillac CTS V, and I couldn't be happier.

I have no favorite brand. I just give credit and grief where it's due.

I'd love to know how you'd even go about trying to quantify that. What I do know is I can go on YouTube and see dozens of videos of 800whp to 1600whp C7's. I honestly can't recall ever seeing a video of a +700whp GT350.

Assuming Ford let's you buy one even if you can afford it.

But honestly, that's part of it, if the car is nothing but fantasy material, then yeah, grumble away about "minor issues". It's like how someone will complain about Megan Foxes wierd toes and skinny elbows, but only plows battle pigs at the local dive.

Literally nobody said there are any 1000WHP GT350s, so I don't know how that even became part of the conversation. I said there are barely any 1000WHP Corvettes. Dozens of YouTube videos of the same car(s) over and over doesn't mean there are dozens of those cars. 1000WHP Corvettes (or any car, for that matter) are few and far between.

The C8 really is going to be a game changer, just look at how much new attention it’s drawing from people who otherwise have no interest.

Also look at the people mocking it, people with high brow Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche offerings with subtle slams against it I see regularly now on Instagram. That basically shows that at the core of it they are bit ticked corevette just stepped into their market segment and once the GS and C8Z drop they are going to feel it more so.

Personally I’ve toyed with the idea of a vette at times but never 100% wanted one till now. I will likely wait for the GS and C8Z as I’d like to see what’s done with the body of it. The performance fan in me wants a C8Z for all the gobs of power it’ll likely have, the realist in me with a second baby on the way knows I’ll likely look towards a GS and still have more car then I need for my uses at a sub 100k price point its almost stupid to look elsewhere.

The only thing that could sway me to GT500 would be use of a back seat but heck for the price of one I’d just go scoop up a lightly used 991 turbo

Just like I thought, still not putting your money where your mouth is... same ol’ Premi!
