@jeffh81 too many options. Been kinda craving a diesel. No real need for it, other than been wanting more room. But then I find myself also thinking about a hellcat, ZL1 or even going full retard and going C7Z.

But then, been also thinking about moving to a better trailer park...

The Duramax is locked down almost as bad as the ZR1. We got a few locals running deletes on Powerstrokes because their DPF either “fell off” or was “stolen”

Yeah i hear you. Ive been on that ledge for a while and Im even saving my downpayment up for a Trail Boss. After driving a couple AT4s I was happy power wise.

Now on the other hand 65k for a C8 vs 50k for a premium Mustang with a blower and upgrades has been knocking around in my head too and just keeping my heap.

What's interesting to me is the 60K tag. Base Model...Got it. But the one thing Ford did right was pricing on the 03/04 Cobra. Who is the targeted audience? The 80 year old car show guy? The gear head? Who can afford it? Better sell more cars than one expensive car right? Can't wait to see the models and pricing on them.

Ford may have gotten it right, but their network of dealers screwed people over. When the '03 came out, dealers were adding $20K in AMV, so sticker was just over $60K.

I was in a local dealer today, Bell Ford, and they had a new GT350 R with a sticker over $98K, due to a $25K AMV. WTF?

If Chevrolet dealers don't bend their customers over a barrell, Ford should be concerned. I think the C8 looks amazing and down right exotic. This car could be a better value than the current GT350's and the upcoming GT500.

I wonder how much room there is for a pair of turbo's?

i have no issue being that guy....

its hideous, like tragically hideous. and i doubt that 60k is a ZERO option car, once decenty equipped will be 75K. and if not, that should tell you how terrified GM is it won't sell. that kinda RD and investment and a full loaded price of 60k? doesn't add up by anyones math.

like i said, ive got not issue being the "hater" or whatever the new term is. I personally think the car is hideous, and do not believe for a moment this car is 60k + TTL. 3360lbs dry wight means its a 3600lbs car loaded with a driver, with 500hp. unless GM has a physics off button this car is not running any Ferraris down. if I'm wrong ill happily admit it, for the internet points.

it will be nice to see these up on curbs, and smashed at both ends as GM boys lean about midship cars. the mustang meme are old for sure even if well deserved.

i had the same position on the C7 as well, although this thing makes the C7 look far better.

im not a GM guy at all. ive owned and do own a bunch of different makes but every single GM product i get in is a pos and in my opinion ugly.

Yeah.... The Berge Auto group is really proud of their product. Earnhardts will wheel and deal, though everytime I go into Earnhardt or Rodeo Ford, they dont have any SVT/ Ford Performance cars in stock.

Not going to read all 7 pages but here's my thoughts.

At first I was old and despised the thought of a mid engine Corvette. How dare they change the history.
I was never really in the market for a GT500 but if I was then yes, this would change my mind.
We have had 2 Corvettes in recent past, C5 and C6 and started looking for a C7 recently. They are used as a play toy even though the wife did use it as her daily for a good while.

We never pay that much for a vehicle and I haven't bought new since the mid 2000s
This car has me thinking of going get one.

As much as I love my '19 Genesis G70 (and I do absolutely love it), for about $15K more maybe I should have held out for this Vette. ;) The base C8 is a real performance bargain IMO. It would have to be garaged for the winter, but I probably could get by.

After seeing the C8 in photos numerous times, and reading so much about it, I absolutely love it. There is no other high performance vehicle on the radar that excites me. Nada. Honestly, I have zero interest in the new GT-500 (not that I was in the market for one). It just doesn't excite me like the C8 does. I'm really looking forward to reading some threads/posts from SVTP members who buy one.

Sub $60k makes most arguments against the C8 irrelevant. There just isn't anything comparable IMO.

First time in my driving life (only 30 years) that I am even CONSIDERING a GM performance product. Coming from all past Fords (89 T-Bird SC, 93 F-150 Lightning, 95 Mustang GTS, 2003 10th Ann Cobra).

This C8 is just so....I don't know, its hard to explain. Just never considered the possibility of a brand new V-8 Mid Engine Sports Car, as they were NOT attainable for me. It can now be seriously considered, its still kinda amazing me. I am sure there are a lot of others that feel similarly. Will have to wait and see, but this could REALLY shake up this market. I mean, I am leaning toward a BASE STINGRAY Z51 over a GT350R and I am a HUGE Mustang fan...WTF!?!?!

The best value in sports cars bar non.

$60k, 495hp v8, MR layout, excellent interior, roof comes off, excellent storage space, spark plugs and oil are cheap, brakes won’t be astronomical, tires will Be par for the course.

Likely to get north of 20mpg combined.

Likely to have a very high top speed because the nose is small.

It’s not perfect, but for $60k, there’s nothing giving that much bang and practicality for the buck
