My thoughts exactly. Let them police them selves and see how long that last. They’ll be begging for the police presence to come back. No respect for the Police then screw you.

Harlem would become an autonomous city of mob rule. Only the strong would survive, and the weak would be left to the wolves.

Where does one draw the line to allow the wolves take over? How do you abandon the sheep that cannot escape, despite the desire?

That is a tough call to make. One would have to ignore the children, elderly, and the poor that are truly trapped.

and the starting salary for an NYPD officer is like $20k a year, which is just about on par with someone working in a fast food restaurant. It's amazing those guys & gals would even want to risk their lives for 0 compensation.
There have been a rash of NYPD suicides lately. A friend of mine was a NYPD Detective and left because it got so bad under DeBlassio. This is what happens when politicians turn on the police, the ICE and the border patrol are going through the same thing. We've gone from the NYPD being heroes to this shit in under 20 years.

I don't understand why the cop that took a bucket to the head does nothing to arrest the perp.

Not to sound like an internet tough guy, but you look to throw a bucket of God knows what on me and you are about to have a bad day.

$20k? Their starting salary is $42k and goes up to $85k in 5 years. And with minimal OT they make $100k.

This is what social media has done for our society. What can be done to get more attention than the last stunt? Mainstream media does not exist to these people, only those that spend hours watching videos. Politicians care about being re-elected by the people that protest against law and order, not about the ones who are charged with keeping law and order. I could go on for days.

Lol **** that shit. If I had a solid partner, I would’ve made at least one arrest in each of those scenarios.

Re the suicides. Think I read they had several in one weekend recently.

I want to say ours up as well but don’t have access to actual stats.

Thats embarrassing and infuriating to watch. No fkn respect. That scumbag has the balls to get within inches of the cop and dump water on him and then runs away like a little bitch. Same for that lowlife throwing a bucket. Fkn lowlifes.

New York police slam videos showing officers pelted with objects, drenched with water: 'reprehensible'

I saw this video this morning and got sick to my stomach. People (and I use the term very loosely) in Harlem outright abusing police, drenching them with buckets of water and mocking them as they were making an arrest.

The Police Benevolent Association (PBA) of the City of New York released a statement on the “'Water Bucket' Attacks on Police Officers” putting the blame on lawmakers.

PBA president Patrick Lynch said, “Our anti-cop lawmakers have gotten their wish: the NYPD is now frozen.”

He added that the “attacks” were “the end result of the torrent of bad policies and anti-police rhetoric that has been streaming out of City Hall and Albany for years now.”

Lynch said, “We are approaching the point of no return.”

How much worse can it get? Oh, and nothing about this so far has shown up in the news except on Fox.

I'm not defending the perps, but all this REALLY started when people started getting tired of the blue line, and the police not getting rid of the obvious bad apples. Nobody is going to respect any organization that is supposed to uphold the law, but doesn't look in the mirror first.

Of course, disrespectful rhetoric from the politicians that are supposed to support them doesn't help. But they'd get a lot more sympathy if they'd make sure their own houses are clean.

I am not condoning their actions at all and think it's 100% disrespectful, but the cops probably did enjoy it a little on a such a hot weekend. If not, wouldn't they have made arrests for assaulting an officer?

Yeah I'm sure they enjoyed riding around soaking fricking wet for the rest of their shift babysitting a bunch feebleminded thugs.
