Dont worry that train is gaining steam. By the way I am shopping for a new Silverado with the 6.2 and will travel for it. Going to run right over the Ram and the C8 will be bitch slapping the Fords on 1320 soon.
Hahahahaha. You are pretty entertaining with a wild imagination. But next time I see the few 6.2s under 40k in my area ill pass it your way. At least your getting the only engine worth getting in there entire line up.
Watch out for the the ecobeast F150 they will smoke you even with giving you the jump.

Well its a cool car and I would like to see it see for 58k but it wont happen around my neck of the woods. Mark up on vettes in Maine are horseshit. I went with a friend of mine to go get the vette that he wanted. Found it at the stealership for 12k more than price they put online. He told them to pound sand. If the rest of the stealerships are doing the same shit you wont be getting this thing for less than 70k.

Drive to Kerbeck in Atlantic City and buy it well below MSRP.

What crack are you smoking. Gm has proved nothing at this point.

Since when has the mustang actually ever technically been in the same category as the Corvette?

Are you still mad that the 03/04 cobras were giving the 03/04 z06 a spanking all the time.

Correct.... If by “spanking all the time” you mean with a twin screw swapped blower car.

I lost count of how many pullied and ported 03/04s I put down with my lowly mild bolt on c5z.

You must be crazy. Lol

I wonder how much of a dealer mark up is going to take place because everyone will want one? Kinda like the whole Mazda Miata when it first came out and dealerships where marking them up between 10 and 20K.

The dealer markup can't last too long. Gm will produce too many of them and drive the cost down. Over on Corvette forum there are a lot of c6 and cu owners that really dislike the c8.

Again places like Kerbeck NJ and Coughlin's in Ohio will have them at MSRP but these small time out in the middle of Wisconsin or Iowa Chevy dealers I can see it that might sell 3 vettes a year.

exactly, I had both cars and a bolt-on C5Z with full exhaust would pull a pullied eaton cobra 9/10 times. The only cars that really had a chance were the 2.80 cars and or cars running a lower pulley, then it was a close race. I got video of me dragging my buddies 2.90 pullied 03, will have to dig that up, lol...

yeah 2 things the Z06 Vette had that the 03-04 Cobras did not a much better power to weight ratio and a much better drag coefficency.

But like anything when you start talking mods then anything goes.

Its funny it only took a v6 from Ford to beat those oh so big v8s. Kinda sad if you ask me.

If your gonna complain about the oil issues at least add the 5.2 voodoo to that list.

Lol the good old days of Mexico can make for some fun.

Still most never been on the track and fear it. As they may not be as good as a driver as they think they are.

After watching some more videos regarding the Z51 package and what you get with it, there is no way in hell it is just a $5k option. Easily could start at $10k or more. But then again everyone was shocked at the base starting price, so I guess who really will know. IMO I can see a Z51 optioned out C8 will for sure be in the GT500s price range.

Yup, and this is a base vette. Ppl are losing their minds. You dont see people talking about a regular c7 stingray these days. I know the c8 is something new, mid engine, dct, but this car while still NA gained a good 200+lbs. It will be a stellar performer, but once the z06/GS and later a zr1 come out it will be forgotten.
The gt500 will not be forgotten, it wont be as common either, which is part of the mystique with the snake-badged cars. :D
I did a quick search, in 2017 gm made 32k c7s.

Either way, if im wrong and prices plummet on the gt500, I'd scoop that up before a regular c8. I know I ain't the only one. It'd be one hell of a daily driver.

Still amazes me how long it took Ford with this new overpriced Shelby, and couple few weeks later GM bitchslaps..knocking em right out the spotlight. Unreal!
