Find me a real picture and not a digital rendering and maybe I will find it more appealing. The vette just looks awkward to me from many angles. Base model vs base model, GT500 looks better.

Looks like somebody sat on a Pontiac Aztek..

Heck, my 19 GT looks better than that..

I think both cars look really good. Now that Ive had a few days to digest what GM did, I must say Im impressed. That Sebring stuff was very cool.

Loaded Z06 will be WELL north of 100k imo.

I dislike GM for what they represent. I will always remember the NEED for a bailout because of their own shitty decisions and absolutely deplorable army of shitbox cars they pump out.

But on this C8 Corvette, I will offer my sincere congratulations. This looks like a wonderful sports car. I can only hope that Ford see's how wrong they are by not participation in the segment and change that accordingly.

To the C8 development team:

That's what I'm talking about! Glad GM brought the US a true American made Mid Engine for a realistic price.
Kudos!! I'll be waiting on the Z06 version with much anticipation.
I bet the Z06 version isnt but 5 or 6 K more than the starting c7 z06. Well within the price range of a track pack GT500.

Ford doesn't care, they plan to stop selling cars.

That said, the base price has me thinking about trading my boxster in for one for a daily and keeping my GT350 for serious track work.

You do realize the C8 will smoke a 350 on the track.

You do realize he might just prefer to daily drive a Vette and race a GT-350. Personal choices, son, personal choices.

I gotta step away for a sec. There's a pesky fly buzzing around and it's annoying the hell out of me. o_O:rolleyes:

Has GM ever not released details on the z06/zr1 model with the rest of them? Seems odd to say "heres a new car, but only the lowest model. "

I believe they announced that the C8 N/A car was the only one that would be available, the other models release dates are to be determined. The 2020 does have a Z51 performance pack as an option.

Nothing official from GM but there are articles about a twin turbo LT7 for the z06, which will be larger than the 4.2 TT, estimates are over 650HP, for '21.
ZR1 is supposedly a hybrid and 800+ HP, that ones a ways out.

Am I the only one so far who thinks the C8 is ugly? I loved the C7, but I can't seem to like this one. Maybe it will grow on me, but for now, I don't like it at all. Looks, kinda stretched out or something.
I liked the C6 and hated the C7. As I mentioned I think the C7 was Corvette Sports Car transcending into Corvette Super Car. It was somewhere in the middle and it just didn't look right. At least that is how I view it.

I think the reason for the delay is rumors of chassis distortion at higher hp/torque levels.

Imagine how much those are gonna cost? Big money.
But, you wanna play, you gotta pay.
I'm sure the Z06 will be more than 650HP. I'm just guessing, but I'm guessing more than the C7's.

C6 and c7 were both a year after launch for the Z06. ZR1 was longer

So it could be a year or 2 until we see a ZR1 type vette in this chassis it seems. Certainly Gm will be flooding the markets with this new Stingray that’s for sure.

Nothing like having people pay to do the beta testing. Who said no one was paying attention to Microsoft's business model?
