Hey all, I've recently purchased a 01 lightning with just over 75k miles. Truck is in real good shape just needs the usual restoration done. I have been reading over the forums for a few days now and I figured id just ask about my specific situation to see if I could get some help.

My lightning is my daily to supplement my 17 mustang for those rainy days. I just want it to be a little more than it currently is while not going too aggressive where I wouldn't want to daily it. I am still pretty new to my truck so any input is appreciated.

Currently my plan is as follows (as far as performance not restoration)

SCT-2600 MAM
NGK 1 cooler plugs
JLT CAI
65mm TB
Valve Body (punisher I guess is THE way for lightnings?)
4# pulley swap (there seems to be a never ending debate over 4/6 on a DD)
Get the SC Ported
Redo the entire exhaust with LT headers, off road mid, and muffler set up I am just not sold on one vs the other at the moment

This is what I'm thinking for now (that's not like suspension ect) to make it a little bit more of a powerhouse but keeping in mind that its still a DD. I am very open to suggestions and everything. Budget is not a huge concern but it is my #2 vic not my #1 so going wild with the build is not really something I'm interested in doing.

Looking forward to the assistance you all can provide me in making this thing a fun little daily. Thanks in advance.

4lb is fine, because you're upgrading the maf, a 6lb is fine too.

The ngk tr6 is the correct plug for either.

Who's 65mm tb? The better option is accufab or lfp. But on a mostly stock truck, I'd skip it.

A ported blower with a 4lb is a waste. You won't spin it hard enough to see gains.

Long tubes, and no cats on a DD is a ****ing terrible idea. These trucks get loud fast. I had a good catback, with stock manifolds and cats and wish I'd left it alone on my old lightning.

Stock manifolds and cats

No cats

The punisher vb is a great idea. Get some jlp long bars or stifflers traction bars too.

My perfect dd type lightning

6lb lower
Plugs
Tune
Maf
Exhaust
Hotchkiss TVS
Long bars
Gauges(afr, fuel pressure)
Valve body

Let it alone there.

-TB was a BBK but I knew the gains were minimal for swapping that out but I wasn't sure if the juice was worth the squeeze.

-As far as exhaust yeah I should have known that since I previously had a 4.6 with LT and a resonator tip and that thing was nuts. The stock lightning is just super quiet and when I hear it in clips it still doesn't seem too bad with all the work done. I've yet to see one in person so ill lean on the side of caution with it at first.

-I had a lot of suspension type mods that I didn't list but that TVS seems to be a really good all in one system ill look into that some more. Is the stage 2 (with shocks) worth it? I was originally just planning on buying new Bilstein's to give it a bit of a refresh as far as shocks go, but if the ones in the stage 2 TVS are worth the money I may look into that.

-I can look at the forums but do you recommend a company to get a tune from or should I go to a local shop and have them do it?

-As far as your list yeah that looks great its kind of exactly what I was looking for I appreciate you taking time and providing your input.

The bank is the worst of the bunch. Waste of money.

The hotchkis with shocks is the only to go. With oem or some other brand shock, it's very rough. My tvs has random shocks and it's harsh. I installed the stage 2 in a buddies truck and it's a world of difference.

For you, jj @ woodbine if you wanna email tune it. Where are you located?

For exhaust, get the car back and then decide.

-The bank? Is that an auto correct for BBK?

-Okay ill check out the stage 2. Makes sense to get shocks that are set for their systems.

-I am located in North Carolina.

-Yeah that sounds like a good idea for exhaust, id hate to do something like LT's and wish I hadn't. I know how much of a pain that is...
