Op was asking for below $50k cars that can go 3sec 0-60 stock. I gave him two.
As for panty expositions try the op room, I mean from his bachelor pad days.

The C8 should be interesting. Until we see some actual track runs, it is hard too get excited. Chevy seems to fall short in every attempt, so while I expect it to be good, I really dont expect it to be great.
That said, I also think Ford is completely lackluster lately. Dodge has their head up their ass with the Hellcat fever, but who can blame them; if there is a demand, build it.
This is a welcome change though, the trend has been to throw more power into everything lately. I am somewhat turned off to the American car scene right now.

My guess though, the base model will be a good performer, low 7:10's on the ring. The Z06, a clean break into 6's... god I hope so anyway... in reality they will land a 7:05 and claim it has more but the tires... No really, I want to see a 6:59 from the Z06.

I didn't make it through all of the thread, but this car isn't about drag racing. The weight balance, center of gravity, and handling will be dramatically different from a C7 Corvette, Camaro ZL1, or GT500. C7 Grand Sports are a tick slower than my ZL1 on a proper road course. The C8 should be a whole different ball game. If you order it with the track goodies, then it will be $80-90k.

Chevy falls short in every attempt at what? The Corvette has been outstanding for a long time now. Since the Camaro came back it has also done very well especially the 1LE and ZL1 variants. The Mustang is also very capable with the GT350/R cars. The only real complaint would be pricing and the delay of the latest GT500. 400, 500, 600, and 700 hp factory cars that can also handle yeah the American car scene is trash.

No shit. Corvette has been the bench mark of performance unequivocally since at least the C5, if not C4...

The Camaro continues to trounce the Mustang, it's short combings being styling, practicality and price.

Also, let's not forget Ford has no answer to the Cadillac V-series.

If this was a Lamborghini being sold at $150k, ya'll would be losing your shit. People are just bitter.

Wait so are you actually buying one OP? Or just letting the shiny new Government Motors hot wheels car cuck you?

The 2020 GT500 will absolutely run circles around the base C8 on a track. You're dilusional to even be making the comparison. The real performance comparison would be the Z06 C8... But that won't fit your narrative, because it will in fact cost more than the GT500. The GT500 is a touring car that will compete with Vetts, Porsches, etc.

Finally, this new base C8 would be lucky to outrun a C6 Z06. You're way overestimating it's trap speed capabilities because DueL cLuTCh Br0. The 13/14 GT500 has the C6Z covered power:weight. The 2020 GT500 is punching a class above it's weight. That's not a cheap thing to accomplish, however at the end of the day it will be somewhere in between the C8 base and C8 Z performance wise. Oh, and between them price wise as well, funny how that works isn't it?

Delusional.

Also, it took Ford 7-8 years to come out with something that barely edges out a car with 2006 tech and yet somehow struggle to run bottom 11's, high 10's stock.

Hold this L

Lol. It was built to win le man and won it among numerous other races. People are waiting in line for one. Ya, over rated.

What GM donkey dick are you talking about? A company trying to stay afloat making junk cars that noone buys.

The internet freaked out too when the G8 and "SS" came because EVERYONE online said they would buy a 4 door rwd v8 car and every other car was gay, yet none of them sold, at all.

The corvette was a shit car until the C7. This C8 is cool and it will be a performer, but that doesn't mean much for the company as a whole. Everyone is also hung up on a base price of 60k. With that price, some corners were probably cut places. People that can afford exotics will not even look at this car, even if it is faster.

“2V power”.... lol

Dare I say that the rear end is growing on me with that wing...
It is, put the option you want and its 75k.

Sure its available, but do you really want a total base car?

The base Raptor MSRPs at ~$55K (or at least did in '18) and mine was $75K after TTL. So whats the problem?

For me when I went through the config the 1LT with Z51 and tall wing will be plenty, even the 1LT has more features than I'll ever use. With discounts its still going to be laughably 'affordable'. I will be holding out to see if a Grand sport comes along soon though.

My last performance cars were a gen 2 viper and a terminator so maybe I am just VERY easy to please lol

So to get 495hp you need the Z51 package. This car with all its options Will easily bring $70k plus. Carbon pieces will not be cheap and that bigger wing. Rather have my Shelby for $80k and get most of that plus 760hp

I also just have inclination that this Z51 is going to be almost double in price over a c7 version, just a guess imo

The Z51 on the C7 is a $5K option. Some of the upgrades on the C7 are standard on the C8. You really think it’s going to double the cost to add less?

Base gets 495hp, the difference is the tire. Base tire is a weak all season. Even the Z51 tire is just a pilot sport 4s, throw a set of cup 2's on a base and itll be a very strong runner. Also, the Z51 package wont be 10k. Dont forget this is a corvette, pretty standard 5k discounts so likely the Z51 will be sold in the low 60's
