The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

The 2020 Stingray's 8-speed transmission is built by Tremec.

"According to Chevrolet, if you pull both shift paddles behind the squared steering wheel at the same time the clutches disengage “for more manual control.”
Of course at that point, all you have control of is the throttle, so it sounds like the feature is just an easy way to let you rev the 490 hp 6.2-liter V8 and make some noise."

I wonder if the new GT500 has this option?

They are the number 2 Corvette selling dealership in America. I have emailed them a couple of times in the past.
They have a C7 Z06 there I want badly. Almost spec'ed out EXACTLY the way I would want it. So nasty. Gorgeous looking cars.

Performance wise its an excellent, and dare I say *possibly* better option than the GT500 in stock configuration.

How so, did i miss performance details? i saw 490/495hp from the base models, 33xx dry lbs, and "under 3 sec" for 0-60 ( irrelevent)

That doesnt add up to be a shelby killer to me

I never said killer, I said possibly better.

It’s a half second quicker to 60, and it’s unlikely to fall on its face anytime after that. Will a GT500 reel it in by a full quarter? Maybe.

And I’m sure it’s going to perform quite well at a track even in stock trim. Will it outperform the option packages available on the shelby for 15-40,000 dollars more?

Maybe not, but I’m sure it won’t be ages behind, especially considering the price difference.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s going to be better at anything, but at the point, it could be considered an “option” to the Gt500 assuming 4 seats aren’t required.

I love them both, except for the GT500 allocation and the C8 interior, at the moment anyways.

yup, I even had an MSRP base deal, but if dealer can't order the options you want, what's the sense on ordering the car?! They won't miss my sale, as I'm sure someone will buy it up, however, I'm not sure they will make up the other 3 cars I buy every 4 years. Just missed opportunities is all.

Ford doesn't care, they plan to stop selling cars.

That said, the base price has me thinking about trading my boxster in for one for a daily and keeping my GT350 for serious track work.
