How bout some writing comprehension. You just said the c6z will weigh 300-400lbs more than the C8. Even if you wrote that in the correct order youd be wrong.

Mic drop, you fail hard captain Ford.

I miss typed I can admit that. However that is a small problem, the much larger problem is you really don't have any sound rebuttal to why I am wrong. The C6Z CURB weight is 3130. The DRY weight of the C8 base is 3366. The CURB weight of the C8 base is going to be ~3500. Again, DO YOU MATH? The answer is no. You obviously don't even know the difference between dry weight and curb weight, can't do math, and still haven't given any solid reasoning to your arguments. Typical emotional driven response to the new shiny Vett. My feelings aren't hurt about the new Vett, I'm more rustled by the lack of logic around here.

You honestly believe this base c8 is faster on track than the c7z06?

Yes 3100lbs 500hp street legal c6z is an amazing car!
Yet you think adding 500lbs and no hp is somehow revolutionary?

But but it powerplant is behind the driver now...

Big deal, Audi R8 has had it that way for years now. Don’t even talk about Porsche.

It be nice for the want of the 350/500 to wane. Less adm. but I don’t see it.

C6Z is not 3100. More like mid 3200s. That’s only about a 250 lbs difference that will more than be made up by the transmission and the engine placement.

Look at the performance the 07-10 GTR offered with only 479HP and weight of 3850+/-lbs.

Kudos to GM, this car looks like a great value. If the handling is improved as we all think it is, yes Ford just lost out on a segment. Im as big a Ford Homer as there is (though my former Chevelle SS 454 is giving me the stink eye). But I cant deny what GM has done here.

Time will only tell if Ford will ever compete in this segment. As much as I LOVE the Ford GT, Ford needs a competitor in Corvettes segment. They better pay attention to the C8 sales. Thats aaalllllll GM's right now. Just like the Wrangler segment is aaallllllll Jeep's right now. Lets hope Bronco comes out swinging. ...whenever they get off their ass and launch bronco.

Regardless, OP is a bating ******.

Buddy, you are arguing with someone who used to defend Ford like it was my day job, Chevy came in and just bitch slapped sense into all that reasoning you think you have. If you really get down and look at the numbers without those blue blinders on you'll see how damn wrong you are.

ON D BIT making a train of excuses about as bad as the train of buttons on the C8.

There is no denying what the c8 brings to the table. Comparing the C8 to a mustang gt? Lolololol....

Search of c6z weight:
C6 Z06: 3,131 lb (1,420 kg) C6 ZR1: 3,373 lb (1,530 kg) C6Grandsport: 3,400 lb (1,542 kg) C6 Z06Z07: 3,073 lb (1,394 kg)

CD:
It is also heavier: Chevy is quoting a dry weight of 3366 pounds, which means a likely curb weight of around 3600 pounds;

Meh, the only numbers that are going to matter for Mustang are the continual outselling of Camaro month after month. So when the Camaro dies eventually, again, Mustang sales are going to go up even more. Mustang is NOT in the same class as the Corvette. How many goddamn times over the course of 55 years does this have to be repeated?

The fact that the top model Mustang with it's 5+ year old chassis will be somewhere between the base C8 and C8Z performance and pricing, is a feat within itself. They are going to sell every single one of them, and in a lot of cases with an ADM. You do realize the ADM due to desire correct? Supply and demand? Yeah... that's what creates ADM. The GT500 is going to have a higher ADM than the base C8 because it is more desirable.

GM took a page out of Ferraris book and used dry weight, aka no fluids.
The c8 will definitely be over 3500lbs. C6Z is around 3100. But the DCT in the C8 is what matters.

GM shoulda put that transmission in the ZR1 to go out with a bang in their last top dog front engine vette. Then the ZR1 woulda beat the Ford GT in straight line performance.

Oh the hate is real already, people saying it’s a dated Ferrari, bitching about the low power etc. meanwhile these same people can’t even afford the base model likely so it’s laughable at best.

lol

It is a dated ferrari. Doesn't matter which way you spin it, its a 360 with harder edgier lines.

I've got plenty of money, and can afford one. And shit, I might.

Hmmm.... every C6Z that I have seen on the scales was 3200+

My c5z was 3150ish....

The c8 is nice and with good performance, but it is in no way revolutionary.

The base won’t come close to c7z06 performance, I expect the c8gs to do that probably at closer to $70k. And then the c8z to be faster still at over $80k.

At 495hp and 3600lbs it has the power to weight less than the 11 GT500. This is 9 years later...

As far as the copied nsx drivetrain from the 90’s....

I will give credit, the truck leaf springs are gone. Revolutionary!

The thing I'm most impressed with is the price! All the naysayers, tell me again how a car like this can't be built at an "affordable" price. It's filled with aluminum and carbon fiber parts and still comes in UNDER $60K!! So when I say Ford could build a better Mustang with better parts, THIS is the type of stuff I'm talking about! No, I don't mean make the Mustang a mid-engine 2-seater. I mean, it CAN be done! And don't give me that "Mustang is supposed to be affordable to the masses" cop-out, either. If we don't demand better, Ford isn't going to DO better. Despite the hideous interior, I'd absolutely buy one of these over the new GT500. (And my wife has been itching for a Corvette for a long time.)
