I have owned a version of a lot of SVT, FP since 2000. Lightning, Termi, Gt500, Gt350. I have NEVER paid a ADM and wont now. I have also owned a few Vettes along the way. At the price point (plus ADM) and availability of the Upcoming Gt500 are any of you considering this as a serious option?

Not me yet.. still need more than 2 seats.

I am really curious how they got a tremec 8 speed. Haven't seen anything like this in tremec marketing material.

Yup, I'm forgoing the GT500 and will wait another 2-3 years for the 4.2 TT (z06 version). I cant wait to see this car in person. So many configurable options and colors. damn I'm real excited. almost want to pull the trigger on the stingray...

I’m considering it. Less than 3 second zero to sixty is impressive, and the price starts at less than 60k for it. I’m also looking forward to seeing the lap time comparisons between the two on a road course. I feel like it will be a good race with just the Z51 package.

With the Corvette being lower, lighter, more balanced, and having a more manageable power band, I believe the average weekend, track day enthusiast will pull faster, and more consistent lap times in the Vette without the worry of heat soaking the car, or burning up the tires and brakes because of the heavy weight and high power of the 500. I think it will be a lot easier to drive the C8 fast for a longer duration.

Hate to say it, but having a rear-mid engine would also make it feel like driving a more exotic vehicle, at least until they are all over the road when Chevy sells a ton of them!

I just hope both vehicles end up being reliable and don’t have a ton of recalls. With the Vette being a whole new design, I’m sure it’ll have the most bugs to work out, which could be bothersome and take away from the ownership experience of the car. I’ve had my fair share of warranty work with Ford though, so who knows.

I watched the unveiling and yeah, he mentioned how well it did in testing, how they beat the hell out of it and it didnt get heat soaked. love the look of those side scoops. I bet it even looks better in person.

Am I the only one so far who thinks the C8 is ugly? I loved the C7, but I can't seem to like this one. Maybe it will grow on me, but for now, I don't like it at all. Looks, kinda stretched out or something.

I think 1st glance it looks nice. Pretty cool.

But when I look at the nose from certain angles and the rear from almost any angle is dislike it.

But... in z06 trim or by 3rd MY this thing is gonna look real good from all angles

That's kinda what I was also thinking. Angles just look bad. I wasn't a huge fan of the s550 design when it first came out tbh, but it grew on me, mostly with the higher level trims. So maybe a different trim level will make me like the c8 more lol.

Performance wise its an excellent, and dare I say *possibly* better option than the GT500 in stock configuration.

But, if someone needs 4 seats it isn’t an option.

I sat in a base c7 a few years back and thought it felt like a proper cockpit. I would love to get inside one of these.

The pic the OP posted, it looks like someone is holding a giant heat gun pointed down on the ass and it's starting to melt.

I like the front end and side profile but not the back end. It looks like they welded a gen 6 camaro ass onto it. I am sure it will grow on me though. It is a hot car, no bones about it.
The CF TP just got exposed and in rather brutal fashion.
With the ADMs i've been told from dealers on the CF TP, you are correct. I could be wrong, but I think Ford just said "oh sxxx" at losing alot of attention on their car today. I'm not a Corvette guy at ALL. But...I have to say, i'm impressed with it, especially for the price. Hard to beat...:/

yup, I even had an MSRP base deal, but if dealer can't order the options you want, what's the sense on ordering the car?! They won't miss my sale, as I'm sure someone will buy it up, however, I'm not sure they will make up the other 3 cars I buy every 4 years. Just missed opportunities is all.
