K&N Fuel filter after almost 3 years with E85

I replaced the filter today and opened it up out of curiosity. I chose to replace it as my car was behaving strangely on Saturday; random loss of power for a quick second when accelerating and then breaking up badly when you give it gas with a load on the engine. Drove just fine yesterday until I went to leave from a restaurant and the thing didn't want to run at all so I had to limp it home on side streets. Of course today it seemed to be running fine and I had full fuel pressure so possibly the pump is failing which is rated for E85.

Either way, this is a cellulose media type filter after almost three years of only E85. I thought it would look way worse inside; Im kinda surprised. I did accidentally drop the filter trying to take it out so some of that stuff on the element was picked up off the ground

Looks great. Wish mine looked like that. I have to clean mine like couple times a year.
