I just had a really interesting debate on the topic of organ sales. The US prohibits the sale of blood and organs despite the huge imbalance of supply and demand for these. Thousands of people die each year because there is a shortage of blood and organs and to deny those that want to sell is to deny their personal autonomy. A free market would solve both of these. What says you?

Don't a lot of college kids sell plasma for money?

No organ sales.

No to organs. Someone or a company will take advantage of that in an unethical manner.

Isn't it unethical to allow people to die from organ shortages? What you describe is how blood "donation" works.

How many organs can a living person simply give away? 1 kidney, and part of their liver?
Can't donate a heart or lungs without the person being deceased.

People can donate either one right now and some do freely to save a friend or a stranger.
