It will not show on a ViN report because this was not a traffic collision. These things happen all the time, which is very unfortunate. The car you wanted is the same car you wanted before this happened. The dealer will put new wheels on and all should be good. I wouldn’t let this deter me from a car I wanted.
What if the crooks did not jack it up in the right spots? Putting then on blocks could have also scratched the undercarriage.

Something tells me that fly-by-night wheel thieves aren't centering their padded jack points on the pinch weld area of a frame.

Find some cosmetic damage and negotiate the price.

Side note: Sometimes PDs put out "target cars" that are monitored and nab those damn thieves. I'd contact your local PD and see if they can do something like that to try to catch the lowlives.
This is what I'm thinking. I recall a member on SVTP who jacked his Terminator in the wrong spot and it caused a bubble in the pan where the driver or passenger's feet went. And he took his time. These crooks are in a hurry in the dark. They just want the car up quick and could be jacking in the wrong spots.

They actually have to be more crafty and slick when taking 12 sets of rims in a one night boost, you can't have 12 alarms going off all at once. I bet they were cleaner then you think.

I bet it was an inside job seeing all cars come with wheel locks

Dealer that was local to me had 30 sets stole within 45 minutes. It a whole crew of guys who know what they are doing.

If there is damage then the dealer should find another like it. But it not then just because the car started out with bad juju doesn’t mean it’s any less new than if it didn’t happen.

Thieves stealing from thieves

I'd pass on the car. They don't care where they put the jack, or where the blocks were placed.

I doubt they give you a discount unless you bring in your own wheels. Guarantee you the don't tell any other customer. You just happened to be set on a particular one at the right time.

They crib up the suspension and let the air out of the tires. Hit our yard, got 26 22.5" aluminum Alcoa truck wheels with tires.

So you agree, inside job? I think Like a cop.

No sir. They have crews in Houston that specialize in car theft and stealing parts. These guys are professionals and i know this because i had a truck stolen from an area a crew was working and the cops said point blank that they can strip them within minutes and they scout the areas out well ahead of time

Oh yes there was one of the biggest car theft rings in the nation that worked out of Massillon Ohio in the 70's to early 80's and they could strip a car in around 20 minutes flat. Sometimes they could pull an engine and tranny sometimes they couldn't but most every panel was off in that time and the seats. But finally the FBI started to bring out bait cars with homing beacons that finally spelled their doom and so was shut down when they traced them back at their main garage. The only cars that they just up and took was high end cars, Porsche, Ferrari, Jags, and Caddy's. That way when they went back to the shop they had as much time to strip it down to it's bare shell selling as much as they could.

And who is to say that they didn't have liocking wheel nuts and just 5 regular lugs on each wheel. My dads Vette and my SS both don't have anti theft lock lugs.

Not trying to got political with this, but according to DPS and HPD car theft departments. It was illegals stealing, stripping and shipping cars back to Mexico to transport people and drugs. They loved Chevy trucks and Fords. Word from people I knew from Austin area was there would be convoys of cars heading that way.

Yeah but this group from Massillon would get a car strip it and then sell the parts clear across the country, they had feelers in Cali, Chicago, Texas, Florida, ect ect ect. And when they come back and say so and so body shop was looking for a Porsche 924 door they would then sell one for $500 when a new one was around $1600. This was why they operated for almost 15 years uninterupted as if they was only selling local they would of attracted attention sooner.

Holy shit. I called my pickup in stolen and the cops I talked to said right off the bat there were at least 6 chop shops in the vicinity. They had actually shot a guy who walked up on them stealing his truck. Just mind blowing for a small town hick like me. The aluminum Fords they bend the door and pry it open. On the GM twins they have a “mimicker” that mimics the frequency of the remote door locks.

If I was Corbic. I would pass on the car and get one that was unmolested.
