Ya, With Performance data! 0-60. 1/4 mile times Ect
Yup. Very nasty.
I watched a couple of videos on them today as a matter of fact. So nice.

Don't get me wrong, I love the new GT500 and Mustangs in general, but the ADM and especially the allocation bullshit is a turn off. For me anyways.
I love all cars. Well,.....almost all cars. lol

The more people talk about it, the less the argument makes sense.

Who cares what you could buy with 110k. you can buy X or Y.

the its "still a mustang" argument is losing its steam. How many variations of the Mustang are there? from what price and performance range?

How many Charger variations? Camaro's, Corvettes?

If you want the most optimized, maximum performance variant of any of them, guess what, the costs are going to be similar

Just buy one now.

The r&d on the dct was huge. Ford has no manual currently that will live with this engine. You really thing a manual is coming?

The TR6060 could easily live with that engine.

I'd add when you have a mortgage you don't own the house, the bank does.

...

You DO own it. Otherwise, you'd just be paying rent and it would be MUCH easier for the bank to evict you. Once you sign the deed, the house is yours. That's why homes are included in people's net worth. The bank just has a lien against the property. It has ZERO control over or responsibility of what you do with it. That's one of the major ways a home mortgage differs from a car loan. With a car loan, the vehicle secures the loan. If you default on a car loan, the bank can send the repo man out to confiscate the car. Foreclosing on a home is the last thing a bank wants to do. They lose thousands upon thousands of dollars on even an average priced property in foreclosure proceedings. Trust me, they WANT you to stay in the house and on the hook for the mortgage. There's much less financial risk in repossessing a car.

Easily living behind the upcoming 760hp engine and meeting the metrics deemed appropriate by those in the know at Ford are two different things. The TR6060 is indeed a very robust gearbox. To be honest however, it struggled with fast, clean shifts at high rpm with both early and late model S197 GT500 models. GM tweaked it to work in their 650hp ZL1, yes. I'm certain that things become a bit more complicated with 100hp over that.

The DCT was a huge leap and no doubt questioned by many at Ford. The fact that Ford stuck with it leads me to believe it really is that good in this application. I know its all about driver experience, blah, blah, blah, but from a pure performance standpoint I highly doubt a manual in this car would prove to be faster.

I'm with tob. The 6060 struggled with high rpm shifts on the Trinity. Now add 1000rpm...

Not to mention years of tuning and work to make the dct function just to start over with a manual?

Liabilities are included too, but I get your point.

They had 8 years to figure out how to make a manual transmission "work" with this set up. Give me a break.

This is just another example of Ford telling the customer what they want and not the other way around. Worked well with their sedans so why change right?

The 6060 only struggled with shifts due to physical shifter setup (remote from the trans) from the factory. It was never a matter of whether it could hold the power or not. Many, if not most people in 13/14s are well over 650-700 to the rear with zero issues, and I don't know of too many who have upgraded their 6060 when well over 850-1000 to the rear either for that matter.
I have no doubt a 6060 would have been more than fine with this engine. Driveability with upgraded clutches I think would have been more of an issue to me. The stock clutches in the 13/14s struggled even stock when pushed hard, but they felt great (to me). An upgraded clutch and you have grabbiness, possible chatter, etc. So, who knows what it would have taken to have a clutch hold another 100hp and feel as good as the stock one in the 13/14s.
