On my 01 mustang GT I’m currently running the 315/35/17 NT05R tires and my set up in a nut shell is fully rebuilt 302 stroker 5.0 2.1 kenne bell 3.73 gears 3,600 stall converter upper and lower racing control arms heavy duty well my question is I’m really really debating on going to the M/T et street ss drag radials I’ve heard they are better and hook better and I also don’t know what 315 runs wider the M/T et street ss or the NT05R it is not a track car it’s street only DD no I don’t care about tire lifespan any advice helps thanks I’m pushing 600/640 at the motor and 500/607 at the wheels

The width of the tire contact to the ground will depend on the width of the wheel you mount it on. I have that exact tire mounted on 10.5" wide wheels and they look pretty wide to the eye. Mounted to wider wheels they would look even better though and have a larger contact patch with the ground. 11.5"-12" wide wheels would probably give the best width use of those tires.
