Dumb question, I assume all s550 shelby Mustangs came with 3" wheels studs?

From the tag on the engine, I would assume it is for a pre-production build.

It was for a PP car. The wheel studs for the CF TP cars will be longer than the base or handling package cars due to the thickness of the CF wheel hub. Not certain yet as to length.

I noticed something looks different from all other S550 iterations, including the GT350. The front link or control arm, with a silver or natural finish...I don't think Ford has switched to an aluminum forging and it may just be an uncoated steel forging but I'm keeping my eye on it. If you study the area very carefully where the 3 bosses are for the deflector to mount, you can see that the arm "body" or configuration is different too.




What you'd typically see...

The top link looks like it might be a casting and the bottom link looks more like a forging.

The bottom link is a forging.

If the top link was aluminum there is no way it would be a mere casting.

Pressure die casting? If it were aluminum, you would think it would be a little beefier than a forged steel part.

LT's will be a must do.

At my plants last town haul they showed the engine having silver coil covers. Lmfao

That's a good point. They are or were supposed to be aluminum with a natural finish. The linked engine appears to show black polymer ones.

This is what they showed originally. I like the Aluminum (silver) valve covers with the black coil covers. It makes it standout from the other engines.

Very nice pics. Haven’t seen these open yet.
After recently helping with the install of a Gen 5 Whipple Cobra Jet top feed, there’s definitely similarities but differences. Good news it looks like the ‘18+ front feed/top cooler designs can adapt.
I like the runner length and assume an efficient single brick cooler.
Still, there’s always gains in improving the feeding of the rotor pack, so that throttle body and more specifically the cast TB to rotor ‘elbow’ might be where we see the best gains.
Either way, I just saw a ported 5.2 (these stock heads should be close or better) and 3.0 Whipple (usually compares to the 2650), make 1080rwhp on 16psi!
So if this DCT holds and you’re willing to up the boost, this Predator should kill it once you add octane!
