How many pounds of boost do you see with the stock air intake? I thought I had belt slip so I changed from a 3.33 to a 3.48 pulley. The tensioner is pretty much topped out now with the 3.48 and the idler in the second from the left hole. I made a homemade boost leak tester and found that two of my injector o-rings were bad. Fixed those and the car held 15 psi with compressed air.

Now at 7k rpms, I’m seeing 10psi of boost through the stock air intake. Running Kooks Super Street 1 7/8” shorty headers, lethal x-pipe, lethal OTAs.

Wondering what you all are seeing with the same pulley.

Have you always ran the stock Intake? From what I have read the 3.6 pulley should peak around 10 psi, I would expect 12-13 on the 3.48 pulley. It almost sounds like your stock air box is a restriction, do you have a different I take you can try?

I haven’t always run the stock intake. I have the JLT one as well. I put the stock one back on because the JLT filter is a giant pain in the ass to clean.

Slap the jlt on and make a pull. I'm betting your boost will go back up.

At the track i take all airboxes off and make another psi or 2 from the jlt. About to clean it out myself. I see 11 or so psi with the jlt at 7500rpm and the stock 3.6 pulley.

That's why I have 2 filters, you can always have a clean one ready to go

Mine get so full of that cotton crap from the trees here. It takes hours to clean one. I just ordered the new paper version for the intake. I’m going to slap that on and just replace it when needed.

Almost positive he is running a Paxton 2200. He's seeing 11 psi because he's running stock manifolds and stock cats. More backpressure increases boost, longtubes or off road pipes would drop boost.

The stock 3.6 part made me think Vortech.

Its a paxton. Sorry, pretty sure its a 3.80", whatever the teambeefcake racing kit comes with ( just checked). For some reason that other number looked right.

Nah, you’re good. You mentioned the part about taking the air boxes off. I just went ahead and put the JLT back on. Missed my boost too much lol
