I'm gathering parts to do a C head swap and I see that some people mention needing a 99/01 or an 03 - 04 Mach 1 throttle body, but some people leave it off their list of needed parts. Do I need a new throttle body?

Also, I've been in contact with USMC53CHIEF about using his adapter plate, but it might be a couple weeks out. Does anyone have one they're willing to sell?

Lastly, do I need a new coolant tube? I've read in a couple builds that the stock 98 tube will contact the bottom of the C head lower intake manifold.

Thanks, guys.

If you are using the adapter plate, that means you can run your b headed upper intake with the stock throttle body.
If you aren’t using the adapter plate, you will need the c head throttle body in cables.

Oh, I'll be looking for an adapter plate so I guess I don't need the throttle body. I guess I'll still need the alternator bracket, though, right?

Yes, you will need a c head alt bracket and we bent the bracket for the coolant pipe(vortech) to work too. So guessing the stock 96 might not fit perfectly as well

You'll have a C lower still so yes you need a 99/01/Mach bracket for the alt... or just leave it off... won't hurt anything leaving it off. I got one because I'm OCD but that's the only reason. If you are using the B upper still you keep everything that attaches to the upper the same.

I got the alternator bracket and throttle body off the 03 Mach 1 that the heads came off of. If I can't get the adapter lid I'll use the C lid and just have to find the throttle/cruise cable.

When I did my 4V swap I was parting out engines and had 2 or 3 full Cobra B intakes at one point or another. I still wound up selling them all and went with a Mach upper/lower and the 99/01/Mach cable and bracket. Just easier IMO. The cables and brackets are out there, not hard to find at all, just ppl want $100-$150 for the cable and $50-$75 for the bracket. It is what it is. I just paid those prices and called it. If you go that route consider keeping an eye on the classifieds and snagging 1 or 2 spare cables if/when you see them for fair prices. I have 1 spare but honestly I have never had a throttle cable snap on me ever so I'm not planning on having to use it but just in case.
