How does "golden ticket" work on CF Track Pack orders?

My local dealer received a 2nd GT500 allocation with a "golden ticket" and offered me a car at factory MSRP yesterday. I ordered the CF Track Pack and my order was bounced by Ford. My dealer says they have a letter in hand saying on the 2nd allocation they could either order the painted stripes or the track pack but apparently not both. District rep told my dealer to send him the documentation they have in hand and he will appeal to Ford.

Did a celebrity steal my track pack? Seems like all of the Ford GT's went to celebrities.

Supposed to be every 3rd allocation that can be a CF TP car, not 2nd.

haha! It changed again? Wasn't it this a few days ago?

Guess I'm out. I'm not going to settle for the package I don't want, even tho its msrp. Sometimes things like this are a blessing. Thanks for saving me the 100K

If you look at Tobs latest pic, the terms have changed. At first it was selling 4 shelby cars in calendar year 2017 and 2018 combined (my pic). now it seems that's just for a 350R allocation, not the GT500. Looks like the GT500 terms is that you need to earn your GT500s based on mustang sales, and by that you earn another GT500. every 3rd allocation gets a TP. This is what I'm reading anyway.
My dealer talked with the rep today and I gotta say, what a ultimate cluster ****. That rep still doesnt have any idea how many allocations they are getting or anyone in the region for that matter. He said they would know in August. hahahaha! He said he would keep the order in for me and go from there.

Is Ford going to be doing this for the next two model years, or how many more years of the new GT500 as well??
Man, I hope not!

Yeah, I think GT500 is 2 or 3 years.
I'm sure the next one with electric motors will have the stupid allocation stuff too. That is if Ford makes it thru the next recession.

I siad this was going to happen at another forum and got attacked for my position. Chickens are coming home to roost. Trying to buy a CF TP is a ****ing shit show. Well done Ford.

It wouldn't have been so bad if they put the terms out in advance.
They advertise the CFTP more than the base...in fact I've hardly seen a base, just a couple of pics.
They put the CFTP as an option, not a separate car, like the 350R.
they kind of mention a 25% build for the CFTP but don't tell us how those are allocated. So how are we to not know it isnt first come first serve. Then we hear golden ticket, so now it's a Wonka show...thinking random dealers will get an allocation for it.
Then we get terms for 2 shelby's sold in each '17 and '18 CYs or 4 total.
Now its for mustang sales in 17 and 18 and that every third allocation of GT500 gets a CFTP. hahahaha!!! what will it be next. I agree with what you're saying on that other forum. it's a shit show

But I'm a hater and have a negative outlook for stating the reality that this has become - a poor decision(s) followed by yet another.

Great car. Terrible way to market it.
many understand. just a few will always back Ford, no matter what...
That's not me, in fact I may never buy another Ford after this cluster ****

Tob,
A picture of your car, less handling package. The Rapid Red Metallic Unicorn

Funny thing is, that's a crop I did of a full res IG photo posted a while back. It is indeed what solidified my choice in color.

I will. It just pisses you off and it really shouldn't be this way. More and more I credit Dodge for doing it right.

I was wondering were I got that picture, it's the only decent picture of a base car I have run across. It also shows how good these cars look without stripes.
Thanks for making it possible.

I'm holding out hope that Ford will offer the oil separator as a standalone option in the final Order Guide along with the detailed contents of all the packages.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could just walk into a Ford dealer with no bullshit and order the car you want, equipped the way you want it. Unless there are vender delivery issues, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to do so. One would think Ford would not want to turn away prospective buyers on $75K plus vehicles, especially when the number of auto models is being drastically cut. I suspect ordering will be easier MY 3+, but how many might just opt for a C8 instead?
