I'm in the military and I've owned 7 2018 Demons, a 2017 raptor and a 2016 C7Z in the past 2 years lol.

Working on getting a 2020 Supra using MAS and trade in the C7Z for a 2020 GT500.

I'd be careful with that. When I bought mine, I was told it had to be held 24 months before resale so that they could keep intact the integrity of the program and the lower prices for those who serve. Of course, that one was 6 years ago, so perhaps things have changed, but I doubt it. Just be careful.

Oh, I haven't bought one car using MAS program. I'm trying to get a Supra now after learning the GT500 won't be available through them.

Our military is not paid as well as I would like them to be, but they do OK.

A married E-6 can easily make $60k+/yr before and TDYs or deployments depending on location due to BAH and COLA of overseas.

The pay could go much higher if you deploy. Tax free, re-enlistments in tax free zones, per diem, family separation pay, travel pay, etc etc.

I'm an ART and as a TSgt in the reserve, I make about 30% more than I do as a civilian doing the exact same job. The civilian pay isn't low for the area but on orders, I have way more breathing room.

While I agree, keep in mind that for every SSG, there's 50 junior enlisted working longer hours for much, much less. But the room for promotion is far greater than the civilian world if you're a disciplined and determined service member.

I watched a Hellcat and a C7 Z06 leave Fort Gordon yesterday. Both drivers in fatigues. Our military is not paid as well as I would like them to be, but they do OK.

There not paid as well as private or public employees but there is one thing that many have, no rent or mortgage payment. It’s easier to save money or have a $1k auto payment with rent free living.

Looking back at this, It’s probably a good thing for my marriage, but I was hoping MAS would be offering them via lottery. I would have signed up.

Let’s all hope that the 2021, or 2022 GT500 will start selling at MSRP in the States, or MAS will start selling them after 2020.

That’s for single soldiers. I currently pay rent and have bought houses in better states. And I pay more than what the housing allowance is.
Nothing is free, it’s part of our contract, it’s part of our pay.

If you wanted to live on base married would it cost the same rent as if you had to find housing out of the military?

They pay less, part of that pay reduction is subsidized housing correct?

Ok, so we get a base pay based on rank and years in service. That’s the only part of our pay that is taxed...great benefit there. Single junior enlisted get a monthly allowance for food (BAS) and a yearly allowance for clothing and stay in the barracks (gov housing).
Single seniors get BAS and BAH (housing allowance). In most states, you get enough to cover rent off-base. But if you decide to stay on-base, they take all your housing allowance but the main utilities are covered.
For what I do, I belong to the 2% of the army, I take the military pay over the civilian any day.

False.

Anything with the word "pay" is taxed

Flight deck pay
Sea pay
Foreign language proficiency pay
Department head retention pay

The list is huge

Anything with "allowance" is exempt

Do any of the combat “pays” get taxed?

i see what you did there, your both right and wrong :)

You still get combat PAY, which would be taxed, as all pay is, ( taxation is theft btw) as if you were not in a combat zone earning the tax exclusion, thus, every pay is then NOT taxed. ( I re-enlisted overseas, Ka-ching!)
