Sometimes black paint isn't that bad.

We all know black paint sucks, but we also know that black paint looks the best when clean.

This is my Hellcat. I washed it yesterday, pulled it out into the sun and couldn't help but take a video.

The car was paint corrected and ceramic coated. Products used were Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra and 2 coats of Exo 4. The front nose, both front fenders, front bumper, rear bumper, door handles, headlights and 8” of both doors have PPF. It's unbelievable that you truly cannot tell this car has any ppf on it.

Washing method is, spray wheel cleaner on wheels, rinse car with pressure washer, foam cannon, wash mit in bucket of clean water, rinse car and wheels with pressure washer and dry with my battery powered dewalt leaf blower. Since having the car coated I never used a towel on the car once. It's insane how good this stuff actually works.

I 100% agree. Black paint looks the best when it's perfect. There's no contest on it, IMO. That is a beautiful car, sir!

She's gorgeous Ray!
Ceramic coating is a big plus. I may get the truck done again.
Enjoy.

I have enjoyed following your build thread on this car man. Easily one of the cleanest, most well thought out and beautiful Hellcats out there. Love the subtle flares, Bronze wheels and SRT extended spoiler. Very well done.

Gorgeous, Ray! Your buddy up in Windsor (if I remember right) did an awesome job on your Hellcat. I know how you feel about your paint. When my buddy ceramic coated my G70 I was amazed at the before and after, and it was fresh from the factory. My washing regime is similar to yours.

As always, I'm amazed at your Hellcat. You've taken it from awesome to stunningly awesome. Inside and outside!

Your car is so nice OP!!! Black is the most ridiculous color out there IMO...Ridiculously awesome and ridiculously difficult to keep clean and maintain. I found that mine sat more often than not because of it but since I had it coated I drive it much more. Its very easy to clean now.

Thanks Tony! When did you get it done last? The coating I got done to the hellcat is good for 9 years. You should go see my buddy who did the Hellcat. He honestly is phenomenal.

Thank you my friend. I appreciate the kind words. Every car I have ever owned that's what I go for. Clean, subtle and tastefully done.

Absolutely beautiful

Thank you.

Hopefully you can use Nick in the future, Bob. BTW, my shifter handle has been silent!

Love your car Ray. About the black....give it ten minutes with any sort of breeze and repost ;) .

Tell me about it haha. Sometimes after washing it I just want to put it in the garage and leave it clean lol. Thank you!

Thanks Andrew. She flies man. It's quick for such a heavy car.

Thanks man, I love your Vette. I actually raced a C7Z the other night. They're beautiful cars. Every time I see one I drool.

This.

Black does look amazing but shit, you can have the car in the garage and just think of taking it for a drive and it'll get dirty.

I'm in the funeral business and have a fleet of over 12 black vehicles. I know all about it lol.

Black requires ceramic coating! Would never own a black car again without it.

Agreed, and for that matter, any color.

I got it done 3 years ago and it was a 2 year guaranteed coating. Plus it's my daily driver, so it sees snow, rain and all the good and crappy weather. Tough to keep it maintained during the cold winter months.
We'll see how it goes. I may get it done again, but this time for a 7 year coating.

Have one black car, never again. DD, are you joking! Every black car I see are always trashed, granted none of them know about detailing.

The ceramic coating may make it easily to clean, but that doesn't mean it still doesn't look filthy even with a little water. Dust/pollen etc even on clear days takes away from its look.

I also don't believe in these 5+ year coatings. I am using Mckees ceramic because it is SO easy to apply. They claim 2 years and that is about all im comfortable with. I just also picked up some wolfgang sio2 waterless wash to give some touch up every so often.
