You should restore it.

The top craftman box I bought when I was 18 and just joined the Air Force. It was beat all to hell and half the tools were missing and the box just kept making the move with me. I started to get called over to my aging in-laws to fix things and they had no tools, so beat all the dents out, sanded and gave a fresh paint job. Used HF and ebay to replace all the missing tools and now she is a Jim Dandy box to throw in the truck and fix shit.

Ignore the fresh scratches I touched up with the wrong color grey!

That's my plan. I need a new lock, then powder coat, then wheels. There are a lot of people on the internet into restoring tool boxes.

My father has been a mechanic all his life. At one time about 30 years ago he worked for my uncle (Roger Coffey, owner of Coffee's Wrecker Service in Louisville KY), whom bought him a brand new SnapOn box. My dad hasn't worked in the industry for years due to health reasons and the box was in storage during this time. He decided that he would like to pass it down, so my wife and I went back to KY to pick it up about six months ago. The box was in rough shape, but after some TLC and 3 rounds with the buffer, she shined once again. Contemplated painting it, but I figured all the scratches and dents gave it character. Below are some pics from before an after. Also took all tools and hand cleaned everything. What a job, but well worth it!
