Hey guys my 13 GT500 decided to give me some issues today. I stopped at a gas station to fill her up and when I started the car it did not accelerate in gear, I put it in neutral and it took a little bit to rev up. Later today the same thing happened. I have recently installed FRPP 67 MM TB, JLT 127 cold air and a Lund tune. So far was great until today. I plan on reaching out to Lund but I maybe you guys can help me figure this out.

BTW I have no check engine light or any other fault light.

Thanks!

Any loose connection?
I don't know I'll check the MAF, TB and intake tube. Good tip.

I'm betting the intercooler pump quit working.
So far it only happens after starting after the throttle comes to life the car performs with no other problems. I thought that if the intercooler pump quits you would feel less performance. I'll check my intake temps next time.

Thanks guys!!!

Anytime I hear "after a fill up", you have to suspect the fuel you just put in your car was contaminated. You might contact the station and find out if they discovered a problem with the gas and if not, try an additive for that purpose. I'd stay out of boost until you get the problem resolved, or at least a fresh tank of gas.

This situation is somewhat common on 13 -14 GT500's. There's a glitch in our computers that "every once in a while" for no reason puts the cars into limp mode. No throttle response whatsoever. Typically - just shut the car off restart and go. BUT...there is a procedure to re set the computer that will solve the problem.

I've had this exact issue - but only once. I pulled into the garage after a ride on a hot day... realize after I tried to open door I was too close to the wall... fired the car back up to move it and zero throttle response. Shut if off - waited 30 seconds and fired it up - no issues. My car is bone stock with exception of a passenger side oil separator.

Wasnt there a tsb that updated the PCM?

Sounds like a tip-in problem... tune.
That's what I was thinking. I still have to contact Lund to see what he says.

Funny thing is that it did that only those 2 times and both times was only at start up. I've driven the car at WOT and the car feels awesome with this fuel fill up. I've had bad fuel before and the car would sputter and hesitates at WOT, I though I broke my engine lol

Yeah I knew I wasn't the only one with this problem. If you know where I can find that procedure let me know please. Also if I do that procedure I would imagine that will put the pcm back to stock right?

Interesting. I've had my car stock for since i've owned on the past 4 years and never once did this. That's why I thought it was either the throttle body or the tune.

I'll contact my dealer to find out.

Again Thanks guys for all your help!!!

Any update on this?

I just had this happen after a pull on the highway. IAT2s were in the 109-119 range. No CEL but the NGauge showed a P1229 fault (charge air pump driver). I pushed the clutch in and cycled the key and everything was fine.

P1229 - Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Pump Driver - Intercooler pump

This DTC sets when the PCM commands the supercharger CAC pump to operate but no current is detected.
Possible Causes:
  • CAC pump motor circuit open
  • CAC pump relay coil open
  • CAC pump circuit open between the relay and the CAC pump
  • CAC pump motor short
  • PCM circuit open between the relay and the PCM
  • Incorrect CAC pump ground connection

I had this happen a few times with my VMP 67 TB. It's called Dead Pedal. Ignition On/Off is way to override it. Likely cause could be TB signal as well as those mentioned above.

One more thing to add is check your battery + wire going to the fuse box . Not sure how it became loose but it caused me all kinds of problems

109-119 is not that bad. Mine sits around 122 when I'm moving and might go up to 135 if I'm sitting in traffic. I just wait until I have some open road to get the heat down

Wasnt there some sort of issue with the factory harness for the intercooler pump? If he's getting a P1229, pull the connector off the I/C pump and look for any burn marks on the harness connector.
